Through a sliding door you’ll find a double-bunk bedroom with an en-suite shower, and a fully-equipped kitchen/diner to show off your culinary exploits. Head upstairs to a mezzanine-style double room and another en-suite shower room where you can rest your eyes and freshen up throughout your stay. You’ll be spoilt for choice of local eateries with The Sloop Inn and The Cedar Pub, and for a palate cleanser head to Quarr Tea Room & Gardens to enjoy their vast collection of infusions, cakes and a beautiful view of Quarr Abbey. For a day of historical immersion, make your way to Carisbrooke Castle, Carisbrooke Castle Museum, and tap into your inner royal and frolic through the stunning Princess Beatrice’s Gardens. Those after more adventure can hike through the panoramic plains of Carisbrooke Water Meadows and enjoy views of Lukely Brook. A ferry ride from Fishbourne will take you to Portsmouth where thrill-seekers can find a fun-filled day at Clarence Pier Amusement Park, pack some lunch and your swimsuits to head to Southsea Rock Garden and marvel at its extensive collection of plants, waterfalls and pools. This small community, well served by local amenities, is found close to the banks of a tidal creek which leads to the Solent, a favourite mooring for yachtsmen. There is so much to see and do in this area catering for all tastes and ages – from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Queen Victoria’s Osborne House, and Quarr Abbey, to Robin Hill Adventure Park and Brickfields Horse Country. The seaside resort of Ryde is only 4 miles away, offering 6 miles of superb sandy beaches, numerous attractions, including ten pin bowling and an ice rink, as well as a great selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. In fact, there’s so much to do that a week isn’t nearly long enough!
