The Coach House boasts a characterful, smart interior and the surrounding area provides something to suit every taste, making this peaceful getaway the perfect base for a group of family and friends to enjoy. Traditional flagstone flooring brings an instant sense of charm to the property as you head left into a stylish and welcoming sitting room, it boasts a 4K Smart TV and some fabulous period features in neat monochrome décor. Step through into a wonderfully quirky kitchen/diner, a delightful dining table leads down a set of stairs to an immaculate, fully equipped kitchen with refreshing light units and metro tiling. Take the conveniently wide staircase up to the first floor, here you will discover The Coach House's four pristine bedrooms; a single, a double, a twin and an exquisite four poster double which benefits from its own en-suite. The interior of the cottage concludes splendidly with an all-white family bathroom. To appreciate this unique location, take your dogs for a walk around the acres of serene woodland which engulfs the property, less active relaxing time can be spent relaxing on the surrounding lawn. You can also explore the stunning, baroque Appuldurcombe House. Head into the village of Wroxall where you will find its pub and convenience store. Further afield, the popular locations of Ventnor and Shanklin are easily reachable and are certainly worth a visit. This village is just two miles from the coast on the Isle of Wight, it has a gastropub as well as a shop. Appuldurcombe House, a baroque building and historical landmark is worth a look. Nearby is Ventnor with a range of amenities, botanical gardens and a beach. The whole of the island is accessible by car and you can visit the Isle of Wight aonb and the Hamstead Heritage Coast.

The setting is absolutely amazing- right next to Appuldurcombe House, it is so picturesque and beautiful. The Coach House was adequate for the stay but it is quite dated and really needs a really good clean. I had an issue with some un-clean bedding and as the little handbook in the house says to, I called the cleaning company direct to request additional bedding (as there is zero left at the house- something I find a bit strange in case of circumstances like this). They are on the other side of the island I believe, but the lady I spoke to was nice enough and arranged for clean bedding to be delivered and left for us. In general the bedding is not that clean- it is old, bobbly and just tired. The pillows are also not in good condition, really thin & cheap and had no protectors on so were yellowing. My understanding is that all this is provided by a 3rd party (cleaning company) so I think the owner needs to have a look in to what is being provided as I donât think it reflects the price being paid. Again, overall the house was suitable for our needs of a wedding weekend stay but it was not in a clean condition and is tired and dated in some areas- from sticky kitchen tables & floors, stained carpets, ripped leather on sofas to cobwebs & thick dust, it needs a really deep clean. We had friends staying in other cottages on the estate and these are more modernised and clean, so maybe this is due a makeover soon⦠On a side note, there is no downstairs toilet. One main bathroom/toilet which is upstairs on the far side and one en-suite. For 7 adults this was just about doable. For over £1100 for a 3 night stay I wouldnât say it was good value unfortunately. It was a good base for us and the surroundings are lovely but I probably wouldnât stay in this cottage/coach house again.

Never been told to take own bed sheets off before.Is that a new thing?? Dining area fine. Lounge disappointing. Settee plastic material peeling off. Lots of cobwebs in corners all over property. Cleanliness not brilliant. Main bathroom sink was very slow to empty. ?? Blockage. No rail at the highest point of the stairs. Very difficult for young and older people to climb. Most importantly when upstairs, how would you get out of the property if there was a fire? No fire escape etc!! Have stayed previously in lots of Sykes properties and this was the most disappointing. No wonder there is no visitors book to sign.

It should be made clear that there is a long flight of stairs quite steep and then steps down to bathroom Only toilets upstairs ( although owner says they have plans to put in a downstairs toilet ) Being disabled this was a problem Other than that the cottage was lovely very spacious and a beautiful location
