Guests say

No 5 Old Church is a beautifully decorated apartment with character, offering a comfortable stay and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the clean, well-furnished rooms and the proximity to local amenities and the beach. While parking can be challenging, the property's charm and the host's helpfulness contribute to a pleasant holiday experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The apartment consistently receives high praise for its cleanliness, with guests noting it as clean and comfortable. There was a minor mention of pans not being clean, but this seems an isolated incident.

The location is generally appreciated for its proximity to the beach, shops, and restaurants. However, parking difficulties and the need for a short walk from the car park have been noted by several guests.

Guests find the apartment comfortable, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Some guests mentioned issues with the practicality of the bathrooms and the heat during their stay.

The apartment is well-equipped, but there are several comments about the lack of shower facilities in one bathroom, small towels, and inadequate kitchenware. The maintenance of these facilities has been brought into question by a few guests.

While guests have mentioned a welcome pack and found it to be a nice touch, there is not enough information to assess the consistency or guarantee of such gifts, and therefore a score cannot be provided.

About this property

No5 Old Church is a magnificent 2 bed apartment set in a church conversion, in the heart of Ventnor, one of Britain’s most famous Victorian health resorts. Beautiful beaches, water sports, numerous dining options, spectacular walks and much more are just a short stroll from the peaceful tranquillity of No5 Old Church, making it a fantastic place for families or friends to stay. Upon entering this stylish, yet homely apartment you will be welcomed into a stunning open-plan living space, where it’s hard not to be wowed by the double-heighted, vaulted ceilings. Space and serenity are abundant as you sink into the velvet sofas or the reading chair and get lost in a book or enjoy some star gazing through the telescope. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped, offering integrated appliances which any budding chef will be delighted with. Once dinner is ready to be served, sit comfortably in the velvet dining chairs at the rustic table and tuck in. After dinner, enjoy the quiet ambience the double bedrooms boast, both rooms presenting sophisticated designs throughout, orthopaedic mattresses, as well as plenty of handy storage. A contemporary en-suite shower room is off the master bedroom and the twin (which lends itself to a very comfortable super king) is next to the family bathroom along the corridor. Relax with some bubbles in the luxurious, freestanding bath before heading out to discover Ventnor’s restaurants, bistros and pubs. Foodies won’t be disappointed, with the eclectic mix of eateries satisfying every palette. A walk along the breath-taking coastal paths lead you to Britain’s Hottest Garden, Ventnor’s Botanic Garden, fuelled by the microclimate Ventnor enjoys. As you pass through Steephill Cove, treat yourself to a coffee or ice cream and enjoy a refreshing dip in the clear waters. Entry is by foot only to this little slice of paradise. If you’d prefer a scenic drive, head to Military Road and take in the stunning coastal route to the Needles. Pop into Blackgang Chine Theme Park along the way for some nostalgic moments or introduce the next generation to the land of imagination. A little further afield lies Cowes, a seaport town with plenty to see and do, including the delights of Northwood House Park, the town’s picturesque harbour and nearby Maritime Museum. The charm of Shanklin Old Village and Sandown Bay which won Best Beach Award, are just moments away. Ideally located for you to enjoy coastal walks. Nestle down in the stylish, yet homely No5 Old Church at any time of the year and enjoy the delights of the Jewel of the South.

The picturesque Victorian beach resort of Ventnor is situated on the island's southern tip and is reached by a series of steep curving roads surrounded by stunning landscape. The gradually sloping sandy and fine shingle beaches and bays provide great watersports facilities, including boating and sailing, as well as a variety of beautiful coastal pathways to explore, while the harbour serves a wide variety of fresh fish and locally caught seafood.

It has everything you need. It has lots of things which aren't listed like an air fryer, blender, slow cooker, games, books, pencils and paper for the kids lots of blankets. The little food parcel was a lovely touch. It is very close to a tesco express and a Chinese takeaway. It's a nice short walk to the beach. We were very lucky that we got parked across the road every day, so we didn't need to pay for parking. But the car park isn't far. I would definitely recommend it, but not if you can't manage a lot of stairs. We'd love to go back.

We had a very relaxing enjoyable stay in this property. The rooms are spacious for 4 guests, and having an en suite and separate bathroom is great for 4 adults staying in this property. There is one shower cubicle and the main bathroom has a roll top bath with shower attachment on the bath. We found the king size and super king beds very comfortable and slept well. It was handy having a dishwasher and washing machine and there were enough tablets for both machines for two washes. Thank you for the welcome pack of milk, water, and other treats this was much appreciated. The apartment also has an iron, board and hairdryer. If you like bath sheet size towels take your own but two towels per adult are provided. The apartment is located a five minute walk up the hill from the main high street and opposite the Royal Legion club - handy tip to locate it when you drive down into the town on arrival - as said in the description there is limited parking directly across the road which is free and we managed to park there 3 days out of seven otherwise there is a car park at the bottom of the hill in the town a short walk away where we parked overnight the rest of the time - if you struggle mobility wise this could be an issue ..as might the steps into the property and up the stairs to the first floor. It wasn’t a problem for us and the town is literally down the hill. There’s a handy Co-op and Tesco Express five mins walk down the hill. Highly recommend staying here in this property thank you for a wonderful stay …

Negatives:no air con or available fans ..weather was hot during our stay and safety windows only able to open couple inches ./decking area disappointing as small and squashed between fence/ building and where bin storage area for 7 other properties situated plus dead plant in pot on decking ..not fit to use so no outdoor space to relax in ./emersion boiler for hot water …easily ran out hot water and only 3 of us using ..wouldn’t coped with 4 people’s demands ./showers very low pressure .
