Guests say

Westgate Cottage in Canterbury offers a prime location with the convenience of parking, ideal for exploring the town centre. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, homely decor, and comfortable bedding. While some traffic noise is noted, the charm and character of the cottage, along with a thoughtful welcome pack, contribute to a pleasant stay.

Most guests found the cottage to be very clean, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, one review mentioned a lack of cleanliness with dust and unclean windows, which suggests room for improvement.

The location is consistently praised for being central, convenient, and within walking distance to Canterbury's attractions, with the added bonus of parking.

Guests describe the cottage as homely and comfy with soft bedding, though some mention the road noise and the potential issue with steep stairs for those with mobility concerns.

The cottage is well-equipped and thoughtfully presented, but some guests noted areas needing renovation, such as the kitchen and bathroom, and issues with maintenance like broken tiles and worn furniture.

Several reviews mention a welcome pack, which indicates a level of thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage is in a great location and with the bonus of parking too! Though it can be a tight fit for a larger car. The road noise at the front is quite loud but you get used to it Canterbury and surrounding areas have so much to see and do. Recommend joining English Haritage!

the cottage needs a thorough renovation, de kitchen is rundown, some doors of closets won't close, some of the cutlerie wasn't clean, there is no dishwasher, the washingmachine makes a lot of noise, in de bathroom some tiles are broken, the joints between the tiles are cracked and dirty, there are a lot of stains in the carpets througout the house, the chairs in de diningroom are full of staines, the couches are rundown and sagging, the traffic on the road is very loud, 24/7, stripes on the wall beside the stairs, the garden is overgrown, the gardenchairs and table have seen better days, de shed is a dump, dampspots on the wall of the bathroom. 2 stars, max, not 4 stars. Most importantly however is that the cottage was nog clean at all. It hadn't been vacumed for months, dustbunnies everywhere, windows were not clean. Very disappointing. Only positive is the 2 minute walk to the centre of Canterbury.

Great location. Very good to have parking in the centre of the city. House was well presented and owner had considered everything for the perfect stay. Some traffic noise from road at front of property but not surprising given the central location. All in all a great property.
