Located in the quaint village of Shilton, The Old Dairy is a quintessential Cotswolds property, set back from the lane that runs through the heart of the village, very smart and very stylish. Step inside to find a joyful show of colour and homeliness, large light rooms and a well equipped retreat ideal for a relaxing break. Dating back to the 1680's, the building was originally the creamery and the place where butter was churned. Today it retains a classical charm with high ceilings and large windows that make the space really welcoming. The owners, who have completely renovated the building, have created a beautiful retreat. Outside is a typical English cottage garden, with a delightful village beyond this. Stroll to the pub (the owners can lend you wellies and coats if necessary!), jump in the car and be in Burford in about 3 mins or simply do nothing - this choice is your in this cracking holiday home.
Shilton, Oxfordshire is a short drive away from Carterton, a well-stocked town within reach of the Cotswolds aonb. Within the town, find an array of restaurants, pubs and cafés to recharge your batteries after each adventure-packed day. Carterton is an excellent base for touring the area. On the outskirts, find the Crocodiles of the World zoo, a promised day of fun and excitement for all the family. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens also rest nearby for you animal lovers to make the most of.

The property had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Nicola, the property owner, made us very welcome and we really appreciated the additional touches - fresh flowers in every room, homemade chocolate brownies on arrival and apple and pear juice from fruit grown at Shilton House. We have visited The Cotswolds on numerous occasions but it was out first visit to Shilton - a real gem. We would not hesitate to stay at The Old Dairy again on future holidays in that area. Thank you.

The old dairy is a wonderful place , an ideal base to explore the gorgeous Cotswolds countryside and quaint villages, pretty towns! I can only recommend the old dairy, Shilton is a really pretty village with the ford and pond just as I remember it from when I paddled there as a child
