This calm rural area to the west of the A23 dual road from London to Brighton offers much more than meets the eye. Bolney dates back to the Saxons and still boasts many timber-framed homes from the 16th century. The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead, 4 miles from Bolney, is a show jumping and dressage venue. Bolney has its own award-winning winery, which offers guided tours and tastings. This part of Sussex is ideal for exploring; you can be in London in under 45 minutes, on the beach in under 20 minutes, or enjoying coffee in France in under 90 minutes. Few places can provide that much in one day!
