Burfield Cottage in Windsor offers a comfortable stay with modern furnishings and a range of amenities. Guests appreciate the quiet location, proximity to local attractions, and the bonus of a balcony. While some maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns were noted, the property's charm and potential shine through, with many guests willing to return.
Cleanliness received mixed reviews. Some guests found the property clean and adequately presented, while others noted issues such as unclean kitchen items and a greasy oven. The presence of mould and a dirty grill pan were significant concerns.

Guests found the cottage to be comfortable overall, with a cozy atmosphere and spacious, bright rooms. However, some guests mentioned the need for better quality bedding and additional pillows to enhance comfort.
The facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and entertainment options. However, guests suggested improvements such as additional kitchenware and a hairdryer, and noted some maintenance issues like loose dining chair screws and broken taps.
While guests appreciated the amenities provided, there were no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

It is in a quiet area with access to a park just across the road. The cottage was generally clean and adequately presented but was marred by a few things which spoilt our stay and didn't reflect the usually good standard of Sykes' properties. On arriving I was faced with cleaning the oven which was generally greasy and the grill pan had not been cleaned at all by the previous guests. It was covered in a thick layer of grease (I have sent a formal complaint with photographs of before and after) but there were inadequate cleaning materials so I bought my own. On top of that there was bread left in the bread bin covered in a thick green layer of mould (I have sent a photograph) -- this was not the best start to my holiday. The rest of the property was clean. There were stains on the ceiling in the hallway presumably from an earlier leak. In one of the bedrooms, the door leading to the verandah, did not fit properly and there was a cold draught causing the blind to move during the few days of windy weather. In both bedrooms there was only one pillow each provided and they were lumpy and misshapen and in need of replacement. It is often the 'small' things which make a difference to take a holiday property from being acceptable to being good/great. The property is in need of a bit of general maintenance and an upgrade to the soft furnishings. It has such a lot of potential, good size, good parking, great location but it doesn't seem loved.

It's spacious and very bright, has a lovely garden and a great balcony. We really enjoyed are stay, but we found that the cottage lacks of a few basic items that we have always had in other cottages. It does not supply a hairdryer, toilet rolls, anything too brush the wooden floor with, any cleaning materials, a bin in the bathroom, saucepan lids, tin opener doesn't work and there are a very limited amount of kitchen utensils, only one pillow per person that is very flat, but on the plus side loads of glasses. These small things would really enhance the experience at this cottage or at least if people are aware they can bring them. This did not spoil our holiday at all and we would definately recommend this property too others.

Points to call out include -kitchen items not clean (lipstick on a glass on arrival) -kitchen tap broken, downstairs toilet tap dripping -odd towels supplied (itâs the details that matter) -rip on one of the sofa chairs - general wear and tare throughout In general it needs some tlc to bring close to standard of other Sykes cottages I have stayed in -
