Guests say

The Roundhouse in Somerset is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its tranquillity, unique charm, and eco-friendly approach. Guests have enjoyed the natural light, cosy wood burner, and the thoughtful touches from the hosts, such as gifts and hot water bottles for children. Its location offers a peaceful farm setting with easy access to local attractions. While most reviews are positive, a few guests noted areas for improvement in maintenance and facilities.

Guests generally found The Roundhouse to be clean and well-kept. One review mentioned a delay in cleaning the compost toilet, which affected their experience, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and proximity to attractions like Bath, Longleat, and Glastonbury. The farm setting and opportunity to interact with animals added to the positive experience.

The majority of guests found The Roundhouse to be comfortable and cosy, especially with the wood burner. However, one guest mentioned the bath and handheld shower were not ideal for taller individuals.

While guests are generally satisfied with the facilities, there are mixed reviews about the compost toilet and some comments about overgrown plants and maintenance needs. Due to the lack of specific references to other facilities, a score cannot be accurately provided.

The hosts are consistently mentioned for their thoughtfulness, from accommodating late arrivals to providing gifts and ensuring guests' comfort. It should be noted that while gifts are mentioned, they are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

This is not the place if you want high tech and luxury, its more a place to get away and relax (we did have mobile signal though). Helen and Brock were friendly and approachable. It was great to walk around and talk to Brock, and his friends, about what they are trying to achieve on the farm.

Lovely location on the family farm where everything they do is focussed on being eco friendly and organic.

If you love a bit of natural light and usually reside in a dingy terrace like we do this is literally a dream come true. Didn't know how we'd feel about the compost toilet having never used one but it was perfectly fine and what shocked me most was it didn't smell at all! Only thing I would say is, I'm by no means short (5ft 6) and when I sat on the loo I couldnt touch the floor, which was a bit bizarre (maybe the owners could consider a little foot stool). Was really surprised by the amount of reviews in the guestbook at the roundhouse as I couldn't find many at all online which I think again isn't giving this place the online presence it deserves! (Would have loved to have signed the guestbook but sadly we were unable to find a pen!) The owners were lovely, they accommodate us arriving a day later than planned and they also kindly left us a bottle of drink as a gift for my 30th. We didn't see them but we only spent the evenings and early mornings at the roundhouse. We spent 48 hours almost exactly at the roundhouse and managed to pack in a trip to Bath, Longleat, Wookey Hole and finally a stop at Wells before getting back home to Essex by a reasonable 7pm. Thank you for having us and quite honestly I will miss the roundhouse! The sun coming through the trees and reflecting onto the walls and don't get me started on that beautiful skylight! Thank you!
