Brightwell Barn is a well-received cottage in Launceston, Devon, praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like a welcome cake. Guests appreciate its great location for exploring the local coast and find it equipped for a comfortable stay, though some minor improvements are suggested.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and nicely decorated, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The location is celebrated for its proximity to local attractions and the coast, despite some difficulty finding the turnoff in the dark.
The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, though there is a suggestion for more inviting outdoor space and additional room for clothes in the twin room.
Facilities are generally good, with a fully equipped kitchen and decent broadband. However, guests mention a need for more crockery, cutlery, and a larger frying pan, as well as a better shower pressure.
While the cake left for guests was much appreciated, as it is not clear if such gestures are consistent for all stays, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

It's not the biggest, but it's very cozy and has everything you need. I've saved it for future visits. Perfect for Bude (25mins) and surrounding area, whilst Padstow area also easily accessible (45-50mins). Camelford a short drive for the Co-Op there, large brand supermarkets a short drive also in Launceston and Bude etc. Note, the Premier shop listed on the website and in the cottage info folder appears to have shut down - clarification on this would be useful for future guests. Highly recommend the Preston Gate Inn near Bude - wonderful service and excellent food. Brendan Arms is also nice in Bude. Approx £80-90 for two adult-size meals and one child meal, plus drinks and desserts. Improvements would be the shower - I expect low water pressure in general due to the rural location, as expected, but perhaps a shower pump to get this raised a little. Fine for myself, but my pre-teen daughter struggled to wash her hair. Broadband was great in most of the cottage and a decent speed given the rural location, which was brilliant for the evenings when I streamed the various apps using the smart TV (also hooking up to my laptop to watch the football on Sky). The master bedroom had a weak connection, but it was still more than fine. A little more additional space for clothes in the twin (kids) room would be helpful. Bin was full from previous guests on arrival, so hardly any room for our rubbish on leaving day. A lovely couple living opposite, who came over to check we were sorted on arrival.

My only criticism is outside could of been more inviting.
