Little Barn is a detached barn conversion in Ludgvan, near St Ives, Cornwall and stands in four acres of woodland garden complete with wild running track. It is an idyllic property midway between Penzance and St Ives, and has been updated with many modern comforts and is tucked away behind gates and thick hedges. It is perfect for couples.
Inside there is a cosy open-plan living room with TV with integral DVD player and WiFi, a farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area. There is a walk in shower downstairs. Upstairs there is one double bedroom that overlooks the landscaped gardens complete with wrought iron balustrade, and an en suite with bath, WC and basin.
Outside the property you will find an attractively designed ‘Cornish wall’, and there is a secluded garden with furniture and barbecue facilities. The owner is a local artist and allows guests use of the sub-tropical garden she created, as well as an orchard, woodland, a stream and several ponds. It has a variety of rare and exotic plants which provide colour throughout the seasons. Bike storage is also available.
This property is set on the edge of a valley which has been named An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This part of Cornwall is famous for its surrounding countryside and many beaches such as Cape Cornwall. St Michael’s Mount is a short boat ride away, with its magnificent castles and stately gardens.
Local sights include the Cornwall Coastal Path for walkers and cyclists and The Hoxton Special open for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, as well as Penlee House Gallery & Museum which specalises in Newlyn School and early St Ives artists. Local pubs include The Star Inn which served excellent Cornish Real Ale. The White Hart also has excellent food and is a must!
