Guests say

Chy Fistral is a beautifully decorated and well-equipped cottage in Newquay, Cornwall, praised for its ideal location, comfort, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the attention to detail, enclosed garden, and private parking. Some minor maintenance issues were reported but were promptly addressed. The property is recommended for its proximity to the beach and town, and the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts add to the pleasant experience.

The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with most guests finding it spotless. However, a few guests noted issues with dust, cobwebs, and a dirty kitchen floor, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for being within walking distance to Fistral beach and Newquay town centre. It is considered ideal for exploring the Cornish coast, contributing to a positive holiday experience.

Guests find the property very comfortable, with special mentions of the quality of the kitchen, bathrooms, and furniture. The beds and lounge furniture are comfortable, although there were comments about non-cotton bedding and uncomfortable garden furniture without cushions.

The property is well-equipped with a full kitchen, electric car charger, and safe garden area. However, there were reports of maintenance issues such as a problematic dishwasher, shower thermostat, and a smell from the hoover, which slightly detract from the overall high standard.

While guests have mentioned welcome gifts, which are a thoughtful touch, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of this practice across all stays. Therefore, it is politely noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

It was so clean. The kitchen was really good with lots of quality crockery, cutlery and utensils. The lounge furniture was comfortable, and so were the beds with lovely linen and good sized towels. We would love to go again. Kate Hewlett

The cottage had everything you needed and the welcome gifts were lovely.

However, the kitchen floor was a little dirty (floor mop just moving dirt around and not cleaning). All the fronts and inside doors of the cupboards had finger prints from previous inhabitants. Although only a few items, I unloaded the previous inhabitants dishes. The washing machine rubber door seal was disgusting. It was thick with mould and gunk from numerous washes. Probably not been cleaned since the last time we were there. The bedding was not 100% cotton. For the amount paid for the week we should expect better quality bedding. Other than that we had a good holiday.
