Mawgan Porth lies between Watergate Bay and Padstow, a lesser known cove than the busy beaches in Newquay. It sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty and its sheltered beach is flanked by tall granite cliffs. The famous South West Coastal Path can be picked up at the beach. As with all the beaches in the area it's popular for its Atlantic rollers and ranked high among Cornwall's top surfing destinations. There is professional surfing tuition and hire available on the beach for all ages with RNLI lifeguards in operation during the main season. The beach is also dog friendly year round. For days out, head up the coast to the pretty harbour town of Padstow or into the vibrant resort of Newquay where there are a whole host of activities on offer should you encounter a rainy day.
