Guests say

Acorn Lodge in Redruth, Cornwall, is praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and high-quality facilities, including a hot tub. Guests appreciate the convenient location for exploring Cornwall's coasts and the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts. While some minor issues with outdoor furniture and ongoing construction are noted, the overall experience is very positive, with the lodge serving as a comfortable and practical base for holidaymakers.

Guests consistently describe the lodge as clean and tidy, with one review highlighting it as 'spick and span'. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experience.

The lodge's location is commended for its easy access to both the north and south coasts of Cornwall, with proximity to scenic trails and local pubs. Some views are less desirable due to nearby construction, but the location remains a strong asset.

Reviews frequently mention the lodge's spaciousness and comfortable amenities, including ensuite bathrooms and king-size beds. The property provides a relaxing environment, contributing to a comfortable stay.

Facilities like the hot tub and dishwasher are appreciated, but there are remarks about incomplete outdoor furniture and a lack of privacy due to glass fencing. Ongoing construction is noted, though not overly disruptive.

Guests are pleased with the thoughtful welcome gifts and provisions, such as milk and coffee. It's important to note that while these gestures are well-received, they may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

However you wish to spend your holiday in Cornwall, a wonderful base awaits at Acorn Lodge.

St Day was previously the mining capital of mid-Cornwall until adjacent Redruth took over, and the terraces of granite cottages built for the miners can still be seen. The settlement was named after a little-known saint named Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village presently features a pub and a convenience shop, as well as a granite gothic-style church from 1828. The beautiful village of Portreath is six miles away, and its wild and rugged coastline attracts visitors from all over the world.

The house was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The only thing that could improve the stay even more would be having fans, especially on warmer days. Other than that everything was perfect and I highly recommend it.

The site is vlearly being developed but this did not disturb us in the slightest, and Nathan could not have been more helpful. We were a two couple party so I wish I'd mentioned this beforehand so the two single beds could be pushed together (in the second bedroom) before we arrived (and a mirror in that room would have been really helpful too)! This felt like a really high end accommodation (with some lovely 'welcome' touches too) ...we would certainly return in the future!

Spacious accommodation, we had 4 adults & didn't feel we were on top of each other at all. Welcome gifts & milk, coffee, soap etc was very welcomed. Only issue we couldn't find a hair dryer (went & bought one) The table outside was a waste of space as unable to sit & eat or play cards as the heater in the centre took up all the room, however it had no gas so we couldn't even toast smores. The work on the new lodges didn't impact us, although perhaps a belt to keep up his shorts may be an idea!!!! Will definitely be booking again
