Hillywych Studio, a contemporary holiday property, is located in Portreath, Cornwall, situated near the owner’s property. Boasting a suntrap courtyard, and a stylish interior, the property is perfect for families, friends, and couples alike, seeking a seaside getaway. Step into the open-plan living room, recognised as the social hub of Hillywych Studio; the bright and airy dining area is the idyllic spot to catch up with your loved ones, recounting your daily plans, whilst the chef of the group makes use of the well-equipped kitchen. Unwind with a glass of wine whilst searching for your favourite programme before sleep calls, travelling upstairs to either a king-size or twin room, both boasting plush mattresses and soft bedding; both are serviced by a bathroom with both a bath and a rainfall shower, helping you get ready with ease. Enjoying an enclosed rear garden, perfect for alfresco dining, a barbecue, or simply a morning coffee in the warmer months. Grab your beach gear and surf boards before travelling to the beach, followed by a rewarding hot outdoor shower, or to wash away any sandy paws. Hillywych Studios is situated on a peaceful tramway that connects miles of lovely off-road cycle and walking paths throughout Cornwall; the tramway runs from the north to the south coasts. An inviting park is right across from the property, perfect for a game of soccer or walking the dogs, along with a children's play park with an Astroturf football field is located 100 metres away. The town of Portreath is a fishing community that was recognised by Unesco as a World Heritage Site for its mining history and as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; it has a long history and is surrounded by breath-taking cliffs, a beach, and forests. There is a lovely sandy beach that is dog-friendly year-round with some restrictions during the summer vacations. During low tide, large rock pools are revealed that are great for a cold-water swim, or you can take a dip in one of the many rock baths that were carved out for Lady Basset in the 18th century. A quick stroll from the studio will take you to several great (dog friendly) pubs, pop-up food stalls, cafes, shops, beaches, the harbour, and cliffs. Pick your own fruit and veggies at Trevaskis Farm, or visit the local fishmonger, if you want to try some of the fresh local fare. Several dog-friendly parks and natural reserves, including Tehidy Country Park, Illogan Woods, and Basset's Cove, are reachable on foot. Beautiful Godrevy, Gwithians Towans, Hayle beaches, historic locations like East Pool Mine, Cornwall Gold, and Tolgus Mill, as well as St.Ives, Perranporth, St.Agnes, Newquay, and Falmouth, all accessible by car, make for wonderful day trips. Explore the Great Flat Lode's numerous unique mining historical paths by travelling inland. Within an hour or so drive, you may visit many National Trust properties, including The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St. Michael's Mount and The Eden Project, Newquay Zoo, Paradise Park, Penzance Lido and Geopools, and several National Trust mansions and gardens. For a retreat with friends, or family, Hillywych Studio is a great option.

Portreath has a small fishing harbour, stores, taverns, cafés, and a Chinese restaurant, and its protected sandy beach is popular.

Michelle your cleaner was lovely and welcoming and the house was spotless. Thank you for our welcome goodies, very much appreciated after our long journey. We couldnât fault anything, such a comfortable place to stay we wished weâd booked for longer. Len your neighbour was really helpful when we got a huge lobster and we needed a huge pot to cook it in. He directed us to the Portreath Arms who were great. Your beds are really comfy as is the couch and chair. Thank you so much, itâs beautiful and well thought out

The accommodation and facilities were spot on. Everything you could want/need and more. And even a lovely cake awaiting us on arrival. Perfect for our family (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog). Portreath is stunning. Lots of lovely walks. Plenty to do and places to visit in the surrounding area. The food at the Portreath Arms was really good. Book, if you can as they get very busy. No dogs in the restaurant area though, so youâd need to go early and try and get a table in the bar area for food if you have a dog. Breakfast at the Pod Cafe was also really tasty. We ordered pizzas via Just Eat from Real Pizza. Amazing, authentic Italian pizza. The Tiramisu was great too and all delivered super fast. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
