The nearest beach is at Portreath, a mere 10 minute drive away, with a small harbour and sheltered beach with several cafes and water sports facilities. Slightly further along the coast is Porthtowan with a scenic coast path to Chapel Porth, St Agnes and beyond. Head back west to the glorious Gwithian and Godrevy beaches overlooking Godrevy lighthouse, a 4-mile stretch of golden sands awaits, with water sports, rock pools for exploration, coast path rambles, surf schools and ocean-side cafes. Head a little further and you will find Hayle Towans beach, beautiful Carbis Bay and iconic St Ives, with galleries, eateries and restaurants, Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum. Turn south and the rolling green hills take you down to more sheltered, sandy beaches and the charming fishing ports of Mousehole and Newlyn. There is also the bustling town of Penzance with eateries and restaurants and stunning views of St Michael’s Mount in Mount’s Bay, visit the dramatic Lizard Point which is the most southerly point in Britain or head to the cosmopolitan port of Falmouth where you can take a fishing trip or leisure boat excursion and spy the seals. The coastal sunsets are fabulous and make the perfect setting for sundowner picnics. Kernyk is an idyllic holiday homestay, one to return to again and again.
