St Ives View in Porthtowan offers stunning views and is praised for its beautiful location and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the spaciousness and quality fittings, with the open plan living space and balcony views being particular highlights. The proximity to the beach and local amenities adds to the charm, although the steep walk may challenge some. While the property is well-received, guests have noted that the comfort of the beds and some maintenance issues could be improved.
The property is consistently described as spotlessly clean, with no negative comments on cleanliness. This suggests a high standard of hygiene and upkeep.
The location is highly praised for its amazing views and proximity to the beach and local amenities. The steep walk to the beach is noted but does not detract significantly from the overall positive reception of the location.
While the living spaces are enjoyed, there are several remarks about the beds being too soft and uncomfortable. This recurring theme suggests that while the property is generally comfortable, the quality of sleep could be improved.
The house is well-equipped, but several reviews mention issues with maintenance such as blocked toilets, a broken fridge shelf, and a lack of BBQ facilities. These points indicate room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.
A cool and contemporary beachside residence, its hillside position perched just a stroll down to the soft golden sands of Porthtowan, on Cornwall's Atlantic west coast. St Ives view is the epitome of coastal living and perfect for sharing a memorable seaside holiday with family and friends. A split level detached house, step into this light and airy interior and you will be greeted with unforgettable views of the Atlantic Ocean. The entrance hall leads into a split level kitchen diner, with steps leading up to a crisp and contemporary living space on the upper level, with doors to a balcony. There are four uncluttered pristine bedrooms on slightly different levels with two bathrooms, one being en-suite to the master bedrooms on the lower ground floor. The sun room runs the width of the lower ground floor and is the perfect spot to curl up and watch the waves as they roll into the beach. Two sun terraces overlook the beach below, no better spot to enjoy alfresco meals or evening barbecues. From the garden, you can tootle down your own pathway giving you direct access to the beach and enjoy an evening stroll on the shoreline. A hot outside shower awaits returning surfers and swimmers after a day catching waves. The village amenities are all close by where you will find all you need including a small supermarket, deli, surf shop and a handful of good pubs and restaurants. Stroll along the beach at low tide and you will find the quieter beach of Chapel Porth and as the tide ebbs back in, head back via the coastal path and marvel at the magnificent scenery. For a holiday of fun, sea, sand and surf, St Ives View is just the ticket and ideal for sharing with family and friends.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we love love the location The improvement on having the glass installed on the balcony makes a massive difference We where disappointed to see no improvements where made on the beds or mattresses even though it has been mentioned in the feedback book as well a few times a simple change would make a massive difference to the comfort of your stay We have already booked again for next year but if no improvements have been made on the comfort of the beds then sadly it will be our last and we will find another property in the area

It's restful and peaceful. The only thing that I didn't give it 5 stars was the smaller bedrooms you wouldn't want to sleep in there because of the smell from the oil tank (I presume it's from the tank). The main bedroom was fine although the mattress was very soft. Oven gloves are needed in the kitchen but that was the only fault.

The layout was perfect and the view of the bay was outstanding. The kitchen was perfectly stocked, lots of seating in the living area. The double beds were comfy and all the rooms immaculately clean. We loved the short walk through the garden onto the cliff path down to the beach. The only change I would recommend would be the twin beds as these were really not suitable for adults. The mattress sinks below the surround frame which would probably not happen with a child. I am not sure it should really be advertised to sleep up to 8 adults. If the twin beds were to be updated to standard singles we would not hesitate to book this lovely property year after year for our now adult family.
