Guests say

Quay View is a well-regarded cottage in St. Austell, Cornwall, praised for its high standard of finish, cleanliness, and comfortable amenities. Its proximity to the harbour, pubs, restaurants, and shops makes it an ideal location for guests. While some minor issues were noted, such as noise and sofa size, the overall sentiment is positive, with special mentions of the thoughtful welcome gifts and the property's suitability for dog owners.

Guests consistently noted the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotless' and 'immaculate'. The attention to detail in maintaining a clean environment contributed positively to their experiences.

The location is highly praised for its centrality and convenience, close to local attractions, eateries, and coastal walks. Some guests mentioned noise at night and the lack of on-site parking, but these were minor compared to the benefits of the location.

The property is generally considered comfortable, with a great shower and well-equipped amenities. However, the size of the sofas was a concern for some guests, suggesting that the seating arrangements may not be adequate for all.

Facilities are described as high-quality and well-maintained, with guests appreciating the well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches. Some minor feedback on maintenance issues like the bathroom extractor and TV settings indicates room for improvement.

Guests were delighted by the thoughtful welcome gifts, including milk, wine, and biscuits. While these gestures were appreciated, it is important to note that such gifts are a courtesy and may not be provided on every occasion.

However, there were some issues (not reported to the owner as didn’t need urgent addressing) which were disappointing. The front entry door is very dirty and isn’t inviting when you arrive. There is mould in the shower on the grout and sealant and a dirty extractor fan cover. The basin drain is blocked and slow running. The bottom sheet in the double bed doesn’t fit, too small so can’t be tucked in. All these things should’ve been addressed in preparation of our stay. The owner kindly arranged for an iron and ironing board for our use, however the cover was very stained and had a ripped. What was very disappointing is I noted many of these things had been pointed out before by previous guests but not addressed. While the TV has Netflix, NOW TV etc it would be good to have the regular channels. The sofas are too small to reasonably accommodate four adults comfortably. While this is a lovely apartment with some great positives it did lack the attention to detail which is appreciated by paying guests.
