The Kilns@The West Dry is a well-received holiday cottage in St. Austell, Cornwall, praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and friendly management. Guests appreciate the welcoming touches such as bread and milk on arrival and find the property to be a good fit for large groups. While some guests mention issues with bed comfort and minor maintenance, the overall sentiment is positive, with many willing to recommend and rebook.
The property is consistently described as clean and well-kept, with only a single mention of cobwebs slightly detracting from an otherwise spotless reputation.
Unfortunately we’ve been unable assess this category comprehensively enough based on the reviews we’ve received from guests about this property.
Comfort receives mixed reviews; while some guests find the beds comfortable, others report them as too firm, affecting the quality of sleep, particularly for guests with specific health conditions.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a spacious living area and clean bedrooms. However, some guests note a small kitchen, limited hot water, and poor water pressure, indicating room for improvement.
Guests mention thoughtful gestures such as provision of tea, coffee, milk, and bread on arrival. While these are appreciated, it should be noted that such amenities are subject to change and not guaranteed.
Charlestown 7 miles. Settled amidst luscious countryside in the county of Cornwall, just outside of St Austell is this restored end terrace, The Kilns. The property is just 7 miles from the harbour and beach at Charlestown and beautiful Carlyon Bay.
Due to the location it is a perfect spot for exploring the whole of Cornwall. Bring along your family and friends, with much to see and do in the surrounding area and scenic beaches to explore close-by. Park up in the ample off-road spaces, making unloading an easy task as you head inside your stylish holiday home. Step into the entrance and locate the spacious kitchen/ diner, where the chef of the group can make use of the electric oven and hob to whip up tasty dishes. Gather around the dining table to tuck-into a feast and why not uncork a bottle of fizz to celebrate your getaway? Follow the steps leading down to the lower-ground floor to be charmed by the sitting room, with its Smart TV and electric fire, as well as patio doors letting in natural light. Throw open the doors to discover your own private courtyard with furniture to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning sunshine. Relish a soak in the tub or rinse the day away in the overhead shower. The Kilns offers four wonderful bedrooms. Opt for the twin bedrooms with a dash of ochre and grey, a spacious king-size or a lower ground-floor en-suite super-king bed. In the morning, you can make use of the external shared laundry room to freshen up your holiday wardrobe, ready for a day out exploring Cornwall! For a countryside escape, choose The Kilns. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1093103, 1093105, 1093110, 1093106 and 1093108, together sleeping up to 38 guests.
Roche and neighbouring Lanivet both have a small selection of shops and taverns and are located six miles from Bodmin, close off the A30. Agriculture is the main industry in the area, and the terrain is lush, green, and undulating. With the wild open spaces of Bodmin Moor just six miles away and the ruggedly gorgeous north coast with its rocky coves, steep cliffs, and superb surfing beaches just thirty minutes by vehicle, it's ideal for seeing the rest of Cornwall. The resort town of Newquay, with its new Fistral Beach surf centre, and the fishing village of Padstow, with its narrow streets, quaint harbour, and renowned restaurants, should not be overlooked, as should the fabulous Eden Project, with its spectacular biomes full of tropical plants, just four miles away.
