Port Isaac is one of Cornwall's great gems. The old fishing village is nestled in the steep-sided valley, retaining much of the original architecture from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggles in the previous century. There are several tiny character residences, as well as larger cliff-top getaways, with easy access to the village's numerous restaurants and stores. As the water recedes, the sandy harbour provides a plethora of rock pools.

They make the property appear bigger than it is . Our party was 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs and it really was a squeeze.

You need to buy a new tin opener too but apart from that it was a great stay. Plenty of parking which was great as we brought a trailer. View was great from out property out over the sea and a great base to find out lots of local beaches.

Was cosy with 5 guests although not a huge issue. Visited in summer holidays so paid a high fee for the stay, bin was already full under the sink and could have done with a better clean but main issue was the sliding door on the front of the lodge was not working. Handle was partly cracked so I guess a previous guest has tried hard to open the door too. Obviously this door opening onto the patio area is a main feature of these lodges so was quite a disappointment especially at the prices charged. We couldnât open it more than a couple of inches at a struggle. Moved the table form the front around the side nearer the other door so we could sit and eat outside. Expect better. Sure itâs an easy fix. The fixtures and fittings should be in working order. Wouldnât hurt for somone to smarten the garden area up a bit and deal with weeds growing through the access track. With circa 50k of income over the 6 weeks holiday from the lodges non of the above should be any issue to deal with.
