Puffin Lodge in Port Isaac offers a scenic location with sea views and well-maintained grounds. Guests appreciate the warm, well-equipped lodges and the peaceful environment. While some suggest minor improvements and maintenance, the value and comfort provided make it a likely choice for return visits.
Most guests found the lodge clean and comfortable, but one review mentioned the need for a more thorough clean, suggesting inconsistency in cleanliness standards.
The lodge's location is highly praised for its sea views, proximity to Port Isaac, and easy access to the main road, making it an ideal base for exploring.
Guests generally find the lodge comfortable and quiet, though there are comments about the settees being difficult to get out of, and noise from the wind affecting sleep.
The facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and open plan living space. However, suggestions for maintenance, updating, and better Wi-Fi signal indicate room for improvement.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Port Isaac is a real Cornish gem. The historic settlement, nestled in a steep-sided valley, has remained untouched from its days of fishing, slate export, and smuggling in the previous century. There are various tiny character residences, as well as larger cliff-top getaways, with easy access to the village's numerous restaurants and stores. As the water recedes, the sandy harbour creates an abundance of rock pools. It's only a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer, and Rock, making it ideal for both romantic and family vacations. There is plenty of parking at the village's peak.

Bigger and better than weâd imagined. As instructed, we informed owners of our arrival and the fact that one of the glass tumblers was cracked. Some sort of acknowledgment of our message would have been reassuring. The accommodation was great. We would make a couple more suggestions to ensure suitability for disabled persons: Provide soap-holder in shower; Mirror at lower level, for those in wheelchair; Tap spouts over kitchen sink could do with being longer (currently too short to enable filling of plastic bowl)
