Guests say

The Bakehouse in Port Isaac is a charming and well-located cottage, appreciated for its snugness, modern renovation, and proximity to the harbour. Guests have enjoyed the peacefulness, the local scenery, and the convenience for exploring the village. The property has been described as cosy, clean, and well-presented, with a comfortable bed and good quality towels and bedding.

Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. While some guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, others reported issues with dust, a musty smell, and unclean kitchen items. The bathroom cleanliness was specifically mentioned as needing improvement.

The location is highly praised for being central, quiet, and close to the harbour and local amenities. Guests have enjoyed the convenience for exploring Port Isaac and the tranquillity in the evenings.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with the bed receiving compliments for its comfort. However, some guests mentioned the property could be cold, and the heating system was not always adequate. A few guests also suggested improvements to the mattress and sofa.

Facilities have been a point of contention. Positive remarks were made about the well-equipped kitchen and modern amenities. However, several guests reported maintenance issues such as a dripping tap, a broken induction hob, and a loose toilet seat. The lack of instructions for appliances was also noted.

Thoughtfulness in guest experience shows room for improvement. Some guests were disappointed by the lack of welcoming touches such as festive decorations, a starter pack of logs for the fire, and basic provisions like tea and coffee. It should be noted that while such gifts can enhance the experience, they are not guaranteed.

Some minor notes - the WiFi code is back to the one on the back if the unit, Be careful using the shower to avoid getting water in the floor - leave the shower head high up facing straight down

Not only this little cottage has all the amenities one can need (and the bed was extra comfy!), has been perfectly renovated in a modern way without getting rid of its old charm, but it is located at such a short walking distance from the harbour, and yet is so quiet at the same time. As one previous visitor wrote, it is true that the flowers outside the house could be better taken care of, just to make this place even more charming. A side note for the owner: the seals of the tiles on the bathroom floor may need to be redone, as we noticed that droplets of water were falling from the wooden ceiling when the bath mat outside the shower was just a little bit wet.
