Wavetop a stylish, penthouse apartment is perched on the cliff overlooking one of Cornwall’s most beautiful bays and beach, Carbis Bay. Aptly named, guests can enjoy breath-taking views of the sea, whilst experiencing a family or romantic getaway, to this wonderful part of the county. Step onto the balcony from the open-plan living area or master bedroom and appreciate the vistas from your home-from-home, spanning St Ives Bay from the Island, round to Godrevy Lighthouse. Relax on the sumptuous sofas in the spacious living area, and if you are lucky, you may spot dolphins playing in the surf below, before cosying up to catch up on your latest series or football game. The dining area is to the rear of the space, also benefitting from the sea views, featuring a contemporary, oak dining table and four oak chairs, positioned next to the open kitchen archway, allowing you to be sociable with the chef of your group; Wavetop’s kitchen is well appointed with everything you could desire for a self-catered stay. Open the curtains of the master en-suite bedroom, to the Juliet balcony and enjoy drifting off to sleep with the sound of the waves below; relax on the sumptuous king-size bed, with top of the range Dunlopillo Sirius mattress and enjoy the stunning Cornish vista from your bed. There is even a side patio door to step out onto the balcony for an alfresco breakfast, watching the ever-changing colours of the ocean. The second bedroom is fitted with twin divan beds with supreme Dunlopillo Polaris mattresses. The balcony is directly above the communal garden, from which a path leads down to the beach by a private gate, where guests can also access the Southwest coastal path. Alternatively, catch the scenic train nearby into St Ives, where you’ll find a plethora of shops, eateries, pubs, watersport opportunities and attractions to enjoy, or connect to the main line to discover inspirational Cornwall. Popular attractions include St. Ives Museum, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, and Tate St Ives, along with Hayle’s Paradise Park and JungleBarn Wildlife Park, and Penzance’s harbour of galleries and bars. Meticulously presented, you will find everything that you would need to make Wavetop your home by the sea.
Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching. Carbis Bay is truly a wonderful holiday location for those wanting to experience Cornwall's breathtaking coastline.

The only slight problem we had was that the front door is quite difficult to lock, needs quite a bit of force to get in into lock position. Perhaps it just needs a bit of WD40. A very minor issue. We choose it because it provided secure parking and we could walk the coastal path to St Ives and the views are to die for.

Comfortable and spacious. We had everything we needed to make this a special holiday. Great location and with views that are sheer perfection. Booked again for next year just halfway through our stay. Which says it all.
