Guests say

This summary has been generated using feedback from guests who have stayed at this property

Molly's Cottage in St Just, Cornwall, is praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and proximity to local amenities. Guests appreciate the charming character and quality fittings of the cottage, as well as the scenic walks and views nearby. Some guests received a warm welcome with thoughtful touches. However, parking challenges and the absence of Wi-Fi are noted concerns.

Cleanliness

The cottage consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews noting it as 'sparklingly clean', 'tidy', and 'well equipped'. This suggests that cleanliness is a strong point for the property.

Location

The location is generally appreciated for its proximity to the town centre, pubs, and scenic walks. However, the parking difficulties and the slight distance from the coast have affected the score.

Comfort

Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, but some have mentioned issues with the mattresses and seating arrangements. The comfort of the property is generally good, though there is room for improvement.

Facilities

Facilities are well-regarded in terms of kitchen equipment and cleanliness, but several guests have reported problems with the shower, key safe, and heating. The lack of Wi-Fi and parking issues have also impacted this score.

Thoughtfulness

Several guests mentioned receiving a box of goodies, which reflects thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than a standard offering.

About this property

This 19th century miners cottage is situated in the small town of St Just, this is England's most westerly town. It has been beautifully restored to provide a cosy and welcoming base for enjoying all the facilities the town offers and exploring this magical part of the county. Step up from the front door into the small hall and then into the charming sitting room with its atmospheric beams, comfy sofa and electric fire. It also has a dining table where you can enjoy meals prepared in the well equipped kitchen. Head upstairs at the end of the day to two comfortable bedrooms, with glimpses of the sea from the single room. Outside you have a neat enclosed patio which can be accessed from the kitchen, making it an ideal space to eat alfresco. If you don't feel like cooking yourself, wander to the friendly pubs and cafes on the doorstep. The town is interesting, with a range of good galleries and little shops, and all around is spectacular scenery to walk and admire. Cape Cornwall, Cot Valley and Porth Nanven cove with its strange dinosaur eggs are stunning places to visit, or walk the South West Coast Path to observe prehistoric remains and dramatic mine ruins. For surfers, Sennen Cove is famous for its waves. Land's End, Pendeen Lighthouse, Geevor Mine, St Ives and the Minack Theatre should all be on your itinerary too, meaning Molly's Cottage will be a restful and welcome base at the end of action-packed days.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall.
