While some have highlighted issues with maintenance and cleanliness, the property's charm and location continue to be a draw for visitors.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property well-kept, while others noted issues with cleanliness, such as unwashed glasses and cobwebs. The dishwasher may require maintenance for better cleaning results.

The property's location is generally appreciated for its proximity to the village centre and beach. However, some guests have reported disturbances from nearby construction work and have suggested that the property is situated in a less desirable part of the town.

Guests have found the property comfortable, with cosy sofas and comfy beds, although some have mentioned that the beds could be of better quality. Issues with soundproofing and light penetration in the bedrooms have affected the comfort level for some visitors.

The property boasts well-equipped facilities, but several guests have reported maintenance issues such as low water pressure, broken furniture, and safety concerns with the decking. The kitchen equipment has also been criticised for being worn and insufficient for the number of guests.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners towards the guests. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category based on the available reviews.

Surfs Edge is a beautifully-appointed, three-storey, detached holiday home on an elevated position overlooking the sea in Polzeath, Cornwall. This pet-friendly abode has a nautical theme throughout and consists of a main house and annexe with off-road parking, an enclosed garden, and open-plan living, an ideal setup for large family gatherings, with the beach and local amenities a stone's throw away. Climbing the stone steps leads you into the main house with a reverse-level setup; head straight upstairs to the open-plan living space with a large, sumptuous corner sofa set in front of a Smart TV and woodburning stove. You'll also find a fully-equipped kitchen with a range master and American-style fridge/freezer, a utility, cloakroom, and dining seating, whilst the patio doors lead out to the balcony with far-reaching views across Polzeath and the sea, sure to be your favourite sunset spot with a glass of wine. Completing the first floor is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and single bedroom featuring a day bed. The ground floor hosts three more bedrooms; a double, twin and bunk bedroom (featuring double for the bottom bunk and single for the top), plus an impressive bathroom with a large walk-in shower and sunken bath for the ultimate relaxation. Heading into the annexe from inside the main entrance to the house, there is a mezzanine double bedroom and a bathroom, along with another open-plan living space with a kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with a TV; ideal for younger guests or grandparents looking for a hideaway! Be sure to spend summer days in your secluded, enclosed garden to dine alfresco and bathe in the sun. When it's time to explore, Polzeath has a selection of eateries including The Waterfront, Cracking Crab, and Oystercatcher, as well as the family-friendly Polzeath Beach for surfing, and coastal walks to the National Trust Pentire Point. Within easy reach you'll find the fishing village of Rock, the town of Wadebridge, and Padstow just across the River Camel; visit the National Lobster Hatchery, trek the coast to St George’s Cove, or bring your bikes to explore the Camel Trail. More popular attractions include Bodmin Moor, Port Isaac, and Tintagel, renowned for its local legends of King Arthur and Merlin at Tintagel Castle. Gather your loved ones for a coastal retreat in Cornwall at Surfs Edge.

Polzeath's sandy, rock-pool-lined beach is one of the top surfing beaches in the country. The South West Coast Path, a 630-mile trail, passes in Polzeath. Wadebridge, nestled along the River Camel, has shops, bars, restaurants, and North Cornwall's sole family-owned cinema. Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed mediaeval homes, and famed eateries, is worth investigating. Newquay's 11 kilometres of golden beaches are within driving reach. Polzeath is a good place to explore Cornwall.

We use to stay here years ago before the previous owners sold it. Saw it was back on as a holiday rental and decided to book it for my brother's surprise birthday. There is some room for improvement. We were surprised to find somethings haven't changed.e.g bedframes, the black metal one in the main bedroom, could probably be replaced as the main support beam underneath is bent. Also the oven, half of the temperature numbers have been rubbed off plus steam escapes from the top of the main oven door. The property could probably do with some new windows, there are missing/ broken handles and the window in the single room upstairs there's a small gap between the window sash and the frame, where the wind whistles through. Cleanliness of surf's Edge was okay but there where quite a few large cobwebs, we also had to continually wash mugs and glasses before use, think the dishwasher needs it's filters cleaning.

So beautifully decorated and furnished incredibly comfortable beds and everything you could want for. The weather made it just perfect but we all absolutely loved everything about surf edge. Whoever the owners are they really deserve a very big thank you from all of us, for sharing their wonderful home .

We were surrounded by noisy building work and unsightly full skips and debris. The house had no soundproofing and every step could be heard in the floor below. Sleep was a challenge as the see through curtains were not fit for purpose and let in 100% of the light also not helped by security lights from house opposite which were on 24/7. Black out blinds are very much required. Although the sofas and cushions were great the cheap flat pack Argos beds were very uncomfortable and a disappointment when one is paying so much rent. As regular visitors to the area this is the most underwhelming and overpriced house we have ever rented. Unless you want a Lebanon meets Polzeath experience avoid at all costs!
