The Haven in Beer is highly praised for its prime location, comfort, and quality furnishings. Guests appreciate its proximity to the beach, local amenities, and the charm of the village. The property is noted for its relaxing atmosphere, with some guests rebooking for future stays. While parking can be challenging for larger vehicles, this does not detract from the overall positive experiences shared by visitors.
Guests generally report The Haven to be very clean, with only a minor mention of dog fur and a washing machine needing attention. The high level of cleanliness contributes to the comfort and appeal of the property.
The location is consistently lauded for its convenience to the beach, shops, and pubs, with the picturesque village of Beer providing a delightful setting. The ease of access to local attractions and amenities is a highlight for many guests.
The Haven is described as cosy, comfortable, and warm, with quality linen and well-appointed rooms. The duplex layout and soft furnishings contribute to a relaxing stay, although there is a single mention of an ineffective hob.
The property is well-equipped for self-catering and provides all necessary amenities for a holiday stay. However, some guests found the parking challenging and the hob slightly ineffective, which slightly impacts the score.
While guests have mentioned a lovely welcome gift and thoughtful extra touches, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed.
Two beroom pet-friendly property located in the village of Beer. This well equipped property comes with an allocated parking space for one car. The parking space is large but care should be taken approaching the space.
This beautifully presented duplex holiday cottage lies in the heart of Beer close to the galleries, stylish shops, cafes and it’s just 200 yards from the beach!
Interiors are stylish and beautifully presented and dotted with original features including colourful stained glass windows and stripped wooden floorboards. Accommodation is over two floors offering plenty of space for four guests to kick off their shoes and relax. Outside there’s a lovely terraced garden with lovely views overlooking Beer and a car parking space. A great dog-friendly apartment in the heart of Beer!
Beer is a traditional fishing village in a sheltered bay on the beautiful east Devon World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The port dates back to the 15th century and is charming with its beach huts and colourful boats washed up on the shingle. Stroll around the independent shops, galleries and cafes, take a walk along the dramatic cliff hugging coastal path to Branscombe beach. Branscombe has a couple of good pubs and a dog-friendly beach with a great cafe serving fresh seafood. Take a fishing trip or delve into Beer Quarry Caves, just a short drive away.

A great little apartment in an arts and craft building. Well equipped for self catering. Well positioned for the beach, the local pubs and shops.
Mr Wimbleton
We enjoyed our September stay at the Haven - Heating very efficient! Well equipped and comfortable, two bathrooms a bonus if 4 people are staying. Location in middle of village is superb - short walk to everything but still quiet. Only negatives are not much outside space , and some will find getting in and out of parking space a bit challenging.
Mrs Hunt
The Haven is ideally situated for the beach, pubs and restaurants. It is also good for walking to Seaton and Branscombe - lovely views. Also bus service from Beer Cross good for visits to other local towns. Inside everything you need for a holiday is provided. Only downside is the parking. Unless you have a medium sized car manoeuvring to the allocated car space is challenging and certainly would put people off using the car every day.
