Guests consistently praise the cottage for its stunning views, cleanliness, and well-equipped facilities. The location is ideal for walks and local amenities, with the added charm of a peaceful village setting. While parking can be challenging, the proximity to the train station is a plus. The thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts, add to the overall positive experience.
The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews noting it as 'spotless' and 'squeaky clean'. There are minor mentions of stains on carpets and dog hairs on blankets, but these are few compared to the overall positive feedback.
The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to local amenities and the train station. Some guests mention parking difficulties, but this does not significantly detract from the overall appreciation of the location.
Comfort is generally well-regarded, with the property described as well-equipped and cosy. However, there are a few comments about uncomfortable beds and steep stairs, which slightly affect the score.
Facilities are considered high-quality and comprehensive for a holiday rental. Some minor issues with maintenance, such as a loose toilet seat and a non-opening window, are noted, but these do not overshadow the otherwise positive feedback.
Guests frequently mention and appreciate the thoughtful gestures, such as welcome gifts and flowers. While these are well-received, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary.

Nice to have a small welcome pack though. A few teabags, coffee and some milk, there wasn't even any salt and pepper. .Room thermostat was a bit hit and miss, couldn't turn it down at all one night. Would come again though. Thanks.

We loved sitting watching the boats and playing on the beach with our granddaughter. Great base for visiting Exmouth and Topsham.

The cottage was well equipped, but the bedrooms lacked blackout curtains/blinds, so late sleeping was difficult. In the kitchen, a spatter guard for the frying pan and an extractor unit would have helped. Parking next to the cottage is difficult for a small car and impossible for a large car, but this was mentioned in the cottage information and it didn't spoil our stay. The landlord let us park on his carpark and also mentioned using the station carpark. We didn't use the car very much anyway, because the train service is great. We would definitely come again if only for the view of the estuary from the living room!
