The adjoining and well-equipped kitchen is flooded with light from the vaulted ceiling and skylight windows and creates the perfect space for rustling up meals which can be enjoyed around the dining table. When the weather allows, why not step outside where the patio with table and chairs offers a quiet spot for alfresco meals or afternoon tea overlooking the garden and making the most of this tranquil location. The town of Sidmouth is full of West Country charm with a wonderful selection of independent shops, local crafts, and coffee shops. Sitting along the stunning Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sidmouth is nestled beneath majestic red cliffs with award-winning Blue Flag beaches. Jacob’s Ladder Beach has been a firm favourite with visitors for hundreds of years with its mix of shingle and sand, with rock pools waiting to be explored at low tide. Amble along the esplanade or relax in one of the deck chairs with an ice cream, before taking a refreshing dip in the sea. Popular with water enthusiasts, paddle board and kayak hire is available with the beach a haven for surfers. Food lovers will delight in the excellent range of pubs, wine bars and restaurants nearby, many serving local seafood and dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Walkers will enjoy the many walks available with the nearby Byes a lovely riverside walk and the South West coastal footpath; take in pretty fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe and be rewarded with breathtaking scenic views of the coast towards Chesil Beach and Portland on a clear day. Other popular days out include the fishing village of Beer with its limestone cliffs and pretty beach, where it is easy to lose a few hours sitting in a deckchair watching the local fishermen hauling their catches ashore. However you choose to spend your days, Questant Lodge is a perfect location for your next break in Devon.

Sidmouth is an elegant seaside resort on the south Devon stretch of Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site of great natural beauty. Here is where the River Sid cuts through the Devon hills to meet the sea at Lyme Bay, creating a clean pebbly beach, giving way to golden sands at low tide backed by dramatic red cliffs creating a safe family beach with rockpools and safe bathing. Sidmouth is lined with stylish Regency cream-and-white architecture, creating an elegant Esplanade which makes for a relaxing stroll whilst looking out towards Beer Head. Sidmouth boasts one of the few public access observatories, the Norman Lockyer Observatory, complete with planetarium. There are a variety of attractions around Sidmouth including Pecorama with award-winning miniature railway and gardens, the Seaton tramway and the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve. Families will love the beaches, walkers will enjoy the South West coastal path and at the end of the day there are plenty of tea rooms, cafes and welcoming country inns to relax and refresh you.

Lovely, high quality furnishings. Ideally situated next to the Bys. Really enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.

The walk into town along the river is lovely. We wanted for nothing, and the bed is really comfortable. For a couple looking, for a relaxing time away, its spot on!

Pretty location, pretty interior and spotlessly clean. Actually spoke about it being the perfect place to retire to. Location was in Fortescue a few minutes by car from central Sidmouth but pretty walk along the river quite possible. Owners supplied a few essentials tea/coffee, scones, cream, jam and milk. Just lovely.
