Dartmoor Retreat Lodge is highly praised for its tranquil and picturesque setting, providing a peaceful escape with beautiful walks and scenery. Guests appreciate the lodge's cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped kitchen, noting it as a home away from home. The thoughtful touches, such as fresh milk and gifts, are well-received, enhancing the overall experience.
The lodge is generally described as clean, with only a minor mention of needing to clean the washing machine and tumble dryer before use. The positive remarks on cleanliness in the other reviews suggest a high standard of upkeep.
The location is consistently lauded for its peacefulness and natural beauty, ideal for guests seeking tranquillity. However, some noted the access roads are narrow, which could be a consideration for future guests.
Comfort is well-regarded, with guests finding the beds and furniture comfortable. There is a single mention of an uncomfortable mattress, but this seems to be an isolated opinion.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. Some minor issues with appliance instructions and hot water pressure are noted, but these do not detract significantly from the overall experience.
While guests mention thoughtful gestures such as wine, chocolates, and fresh milk, there is not enough information to assess consistency across all stays. It's important to note that such personal touches, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed for every visit.

one was the the access roads to the site being very narrow for approx 3 miles( not necessarily a big problem ) and on arrival there is normally a booklet explaining how everything works heating, cooker, TV etc this lodge did not have this. However We were very satisfied with the general condition and location.
Tom
The setting is incredible, such a beautiful place. The lodge had everything you could possibly need and more. Very cosy beds, fluffy towels - we'll definitely be coming back!
