The enclosed garden is appreciated by pet owners, and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack were noted. Some guests mentioned challenges with narrow access roads and internet connectivity.
The property is consistently described as very clean and well-maintained, with only one report of a cleaning issue that was promptly addressed with high standards and compensated for by the caretaker.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and views, though some guests found the remote setting and narrow access roads challenging. The rural charm contributes to the peaceful atmosphere, but the difficulty in accessing the property and amenities like pubs is noted.
Guests found the cottage comfortable, with comfy beds and a cosy log burner. The spaciousness allowed for quiet spots even in larger groups. However, some minor comments about the need for a tumble dryer and better baby equipment were made.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and offers a range of facilities including a log burner and enclosed garden. Some guests suggested improvements such as better internet, a tumble dryer, and minor redecoration.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident in the provision of essentials and a welcome pack. While gifts like Prosecco were mentioned and appreciated, it is important to note that such gestures are at the discretion of the hosts and may not be a consistent offering.
This thatched detached house is located in countryside 2½ miles from Sandford. Dating from the 16th century and Grade II listed, it is a beautiful retreat for relaxation and enjoying the lovely rural surroundings. From the moment you step inside, you will be struck by the history and charm of original features such as panelling, knobbly walls, beams and low doorways. The kitchen is in good country style with a table for dining and glass doors which can be opened to the garden. The sitting room is snug and cosy with its wood burning stove in an ancient inglenook. Head on upstairs to find four bedrooms, all comfortable places to rest. The sunny patio is ideal for alfresco supper with its lighting, furniture and barbecue, or head up steps to sunbathe on the enclosed lawn. At the front, the children can run wild and play football in the field. This is excellent country for the great outdoors, with a path for walking and cycling to the town of Crediton and Dartmoor and the coast at Exmouth within easy reach. For city lights, head to Exeter where you can admire the cathedral, shop to your heart's content and eat like kings. Very well equipped house, beautiful views and local walks. Perfect location for relaxing and escaping the busyness of life.

We loved it, and found it a great base to explore Dartmoor from. All the facilities you could want, as it is still used by the owner family. Kitchen is excellent for cooking large group meals and hanging out in, sitting room cosy for evening games or chats. Lanes everywhere in the area are narrow, and the approach road here is no different - just take it slow and it is completely fine.

The only thing that lets it down is the access road.
