As you wind your way along the private drive through pretty woodland, keep your eyes peeled for peregrine falcons, red deer, foxes and badgers – dawn or dusk are a great time to see them. Although many guests will choose to enjoy the secluded and peaceful location of the cabin, there is plenty to be discovered in the surrounding area, Exmoor National Park offers a range of outdoor pursuits including sea fishing, pony trekking, game and clay pigeon shooting and mountain biking. Golf courses can be found in Tiverton and Minehead and there are many fantastic beaches on the north coast. The charming village of Dulverton is less than four miles away with a range of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Sat on a raised veranda, there is a step up before entering this one-level property. Walk through the front door into the open-plan lounge/diner where you can enjoy a freshly-cooked evening meal or make use of the TV/DVD and sofa area. Alternatively, the large veranda overlooking the floodlit pond and private gardens is ideal for stargazing on a clear night. Situated in the gardens you’ll find a summerhouse fitted with a fridge/freezer for use. Large windows throughout make the property light and airy, whilst the wooden panel walls create a rustic feel. After a day spent exploring, you’ll be eager to come home to the large shower that this lodge boasts.

Exmoor National Park is recognised as one of the best locations for walking, so put on your hiking boots and venture out onto the moorland which offers babbling brooks, a unique landscape and a Devonshire cream tea to keep those energy levels up! For time in the saddle, mountain biking and horse riding are also available options. Alternatively, make use of the bikes for hire and cycle the 8 miles along the Grand Western Canal Cycle Route, starting at Tiverton and ending at the Somerset border.
