2 Bayview is a first-floor apartment situated on the seafront in Torcross, Devon. With uninterrupted views of the beach and sea, this pet-friendly accommodation is a charming spot for couples seeking a coastal break. Take the exterior steps up to your front door into the hall, off which you will find the sitting room where you can open the door to the Juliet balcony to gaze at the view, then draw the curtains and snuggle up beside the woodburning stove and enjoy meals around the breakfast bar when evening falls. An ancient timber screen separates it from the well-equipped kitchen, appointed with everything for a week away. As the night grows dark, the double bedroom is well-presented with a neat shower room located close by. For sunny days, you have shared access to a little enclosed courtyard, a lovely spot to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine. The heart of Torcross is defined by a long shingle beach that overlooks the serene waters of Start Bay. With panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding rolling hills, the beach provides a perfect setting for leisurely walks, picnics, and taking in the fresh sea air. Within the village there are traditional pubs and restaurants specialising in seafood, with fresh catch often on the menu. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity of Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve, a freshwater lake just inland from the beach, offering birdwatching and wildlife spotting opportunities. Seven miles away lies the market town of Kingsbridge, with its regular markets showcasing a variety of local produce, crafts, and artisanal goods, along with historical attractions, including St. Edmund's Church with its impressive spire standing testament to the town's medieval roots. There’s plenty to enjoy whilst holidaying at 2 Bayview.
Torcross is at the southern end of Slapton Sands, in the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This area of coastline is a historic site where the Normandy landings were practiced, and is within easy reach of the towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Slapton Sands is a 1.2 mile-long stretch of shingle beach, which is dog-friendly all year round. This area is fantastic for nature lovers, with Slapton Ley Nature Reserve adjacent to the beach.
