Wedgwood in Salcombe is a spacious and homely property, appreciated for its comfortable accommodation, suitability for families, children, and dogs, and its proximity to the town and beaches. Guests enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, the views, and the multiple living spaces, though some noted the property could benefit from a deep clean and maintenance.
Several reviews mention the need for a deep clean, with reports of stained bedlinen, unclean kitchen, and dusty rooms. However, some guests found the house clean, indicating inconsistency in cleanliness standards.
The location is highly praised for being close to the town and beaches, with only minor concerns about parking difficulties and the property being situated on a hill.
Guests found the property comfortable, with spacious rooms and peaceful sleep. However, some discomfort was noted due to heat in the top bedroom and the condition of some furniture.
The property boasts well-received features like a well-equipped kitchen and games room. Nonetheless, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as broken appliances, worn-out decoration, and the need for DIY touch-ups.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to assess this category.

The biggest issue was that there was no parking and the customer service from Coast&Country/Sykes Cottages was extremely poor when trying to resolve. You cannot speak to a person and the automated options are shut down after hours. Parking was advertised as being available and was one of the reasons we chose the property. When we arrived someone had parked blocking the garage so no parking was available within a 5 min walk - not ideal when you have just driven 4hrs!! Inside the house was fine. Bedrooms were the highlight, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was good, although one side of the oven appeared to be broken. Sitting rooms were ok, not particularly clean and a bit dated. Of particular frustration was lack of batteries in the TV remotes and the old TVs. Small details once fixed would make a world of difference!!

Comfortable beds. Good kitchen. Needs some maintenance (ie damp repairs). Extra shower needed for six guests. Downstairs lighting circuit continues to trip every day. Light needed by front gate steps.

The garden grass was about 8 inches high, over grown and should have been cut and tidied there was no excuse for that as a holiday rental other than poor management. The property it's self needed a through DEEP clean....dirty, kitchen cupboards didn't shut properly, broken shelves in the fridges. The furniture and carpets in the front room need changing and up grading! setee seriously stained so it the carpet and rug.... (Fortunatly I took my own throws) other wise I certainly wouldn't want to have sat on it. There is also damp coming through the wall of the front bedroom. Stairs are steep, NO baby gate provided however we did ask and were declined. We also asked to take our own to be told it the pressure caused any damage we would be liable.....absolute joke considering this is not a highly maintained property. There was no concern regarding safty of a toddler! It was nice to have the table tennis in the garage. They also lost console games however the wired to these also need replacing, This property needs care and attention and bringing up to a higher cleaner standard and maintenance issues need addressing also the damp in the bedroom. The garden should have also been kept clean and tidy, This property is neglected which is such a shame Next door is a rental too and unfortunatly the owners adult children liked to party till 03.00 am dispite asking to be quiet!
