Raleigh House in Salcombe, Devon, is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its suitability for large groups, contemporary comfort, and beautiful views. Guests have enjoyed the spaciousness, well-equipped rooms, and the property's proximity to local amenities and the town centre. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns were noted, the overall experience has been very positive, with many guests considering a return visit.
Guests have generally found the property to be clean, with immaculate linen and a welcoming atmosphere. However, there were comments about a mouldy washing machine compartment, bird muck on windows, and a need for a clean around the front door, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its convenience, with a Spar shop nearby and easy access to Salcombe town, despite the uphill return walk. The property's views and proximity to local facilities contribute to its high rating.
The property is commended for its comfort, with spacious rooms and a layout that accommodates large groups and families. Some guests mentioned the need for better blinds or blackout curtains, and one noted an uncomfortable mattress, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped house and extras like a trampoline. However, guests have raised safety concerns and noted wear and tear, suggesting that some maintenance is required. The absence of instructions for some appliances and the hot tub not being included in the stay also affected the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews provided, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

However it might have been us as we may have not found the switch or something similar. One of the bulbs in a bedside light blew while we were there and we reported that to the cleaner. That was no oneâs fault. Otherwise excellent

...leave the property as we have found it" I replied to that email saying that I had to smile when reading that particular phrase - the reason ? - I think we left the property in a BETTER state than we found it. On two separate occasions during our stay I made contact with the "local" agents - Coastal and Something cottages - complaining on several cleanliness and hygiene issues - I am sure they will provide you with the details of the specific points I raised

Our guests were impressed with the size of the rooms and each one having an ensuite. Also having a boot room was a bonus for all the boots and coats. Parking was good for four cars. Looking forward to the council installing a ski lift from the harbour......
