Topside is a quirky, first-floor apartment set in the heart of popular destination of Salcombe, Devon. Just a short walk from amenities, including several shops, pubs and a beach, Topside welcomes families for a heart-warming stay on Devon’s idyllic south coast. The apartment is accessed via a passageway from the main road leading to the private terrace garden. Internally you’ll find a well-appointed kitchen, featuring all the essentials for a week away, along with living/dining space where you can kick back beside the electric fire and flick through a book from the provided selection. Spend those balmy days within the terrace garden, split over two levels with the lower level offering a furniture set for alfresco dining and the upper level providing a raised decking with swimming pool. Choose from four neat bedrooms to catch your rest, including a super-king-size, a double, a triple with bunk and single and a delightful single. Start the morning with a freshen up in the bathroom or shower room before preparing a coffee and thinking about the day ahead. From here you are a mere stone’s throw away from the local pub and shop, both taking under a 2-minute walk. Salcombe is a fantastic holiday destination, offering excellent watersports facilities, including opportunity for sailing, kayaking, surfing or paddleboarding. Pack up your seaside essentials and head to the golden stretches of South and North Sands, perfect for lounging and swimming in the shores. Explore the rest of the southern tip of Devon and expect to find glorious scenery, picturesque vistas and a number of sandy beaches, idyllic villages and thatches cottages. Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.

    A real home from home. The flexibility of accommodation makes it ideal for one growing family or several families. The location is central in Salcombe with all the best shops (sweet shop and Crêpe shop) just below the flat. The pool speaks for itself. Just perfect any time of day. Our only sadness is we will struggle to come again as our daughter is disabled and will be unable to manage the steps to and from the property, plus lack of accessible wet room. Heart breaking as our children have grown up with Topside being a huge part of our story. If we can return we will be back for sure. We could not recommend a more perfect place to enjoy your holiday in Salcombe from.

    There was no information given on the property details.The following is given in Holiday Details: (Fore Street) - this is a No Through Road. There are a few parking spaces on this road and you should be able to pop your hazards on to unload (and load) your car. The parking is only available for one hour between 8 am and 6 pm. Cars can be parked overnight but need to be moved by 8am to avoid the traffic wardens. The Information in the house provides no specific details of parking in Salcombe. In my opinion the most suitable/convenient parking to avoid falling foul of the traffic wardens that we had to use was at Creek, Gould Road (5-10min walk from property) where we paid £8.50 for 24 hrs for each of the days we stayed at the property. The ticket machines do not take credit cards; its cash or pay by telephone. This needs to be made clear in details of the property.
