No smoking. Please note: There is direct river access from the decked area. . This second floor penthouse is accessed by stairs and shares a small lobby on the ground floor (ideal for boot storage). Once inside, a hallway leads into the two bedrooms and family bathroom before opening up into the galleried loft style living area. The comfortable space incorporates a dining table with benches, large comfortable sofas and a modern, well-equipped galley kitchen area. Wi-Fi and a bluetooth speaker are available for your enjoyment. The twin bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and the second bedroom boasts a very comfortable kingsize bed. The galleried area just above the entrance floor of the apartment can be used as a separate sitting area with TV, or as another bedroom. The single trundle bed (with pull-out attached underneath) can be used as a sofa, a bed or both! Outside is is a communal decking area and access to a private ‘beach’ - a small area from where you can access the River Dart for a swim, a paddle or even to go out on a canoe! Opposite the entrance to the Mill is the South Devon Steam Railway, with the quiet Staverton Station accessed through the level crossing. The mesmerising steam train comes through a few times a day (see timetables) and can be boarded to get to Totnes or Buckfastleigh - a throw back to the days of the Railway Children and a wonderful sight to behold through the galleried area of the apartment as the train whistles into the station. Parking is available for one car in our covered parking space, plus additional cars in either the free guest parking spaces, on the lane or across the railway line in the station car park.

The attractive market town of Totnes is about 3 miles away, the shopping attraction and beautiful estate at Dartington is just over a mile away and destinations such at Dartmouth, the Torbay area, Dartmoor, Agatha Christie’s residence at Greenaway House, Salcombe and many other places are all within easy driving distance - or you can just cycle, walk, run or hike out of the front door to enjoy the considerable local walks in the Staverton area. Just up the road in the village is a reputable pub for food and refreshment, or you can drive to a highly acclaimed pub and restaurant for a meal to impress (booking recommended!). All in all the penthouse at Staverton Mill is a perfect base for your holiday in the South Hams. Beach 7 miles.
