The nearby, historic ruined village of Hallsands is well worth a visit or explore the famous South West Coastal Path, which is right on the doorstep with fabulous walks along rugged cliffs that dip into sandy coves offering some of the best scenery in the UK. Alternatively, pack up and head over the hill to the beach at North Hallsands.  The nearby villages of Beesands, South Pool and Stokenham and Chillington all boast superb pubs, The Cricket and Britannia seafood restaurant at Beesands can be walked too via the cliff path and is just over 2 miles to work up an appetite. The town of Kingsbridge has all amenities, just twenty five minutes away, and the historic town of Dartmouth can be reached along the coastal road, where a good selection of shops and galleries along with eateries await you. Popular Salcombe can be reached via the foot ferry from East Portlemouth or by road forty minutes away. The beautiful beaches of Slapton Sands, Millbay and East Portlemouth are all just twenty minutes away, and keen walkers can enjoy a trip to Dartmoor.
