Guests appreciate the estate's natural beauty, the welcoming hosts, and the property's suitability for families and pets. The open-plan living space, cosy log burner, and outdoor areas for exploration are recurrent positive notes. While some minor issues are mentioned, the overall sentiment is one of satisfaction and a desire to return.

While many guests commend the thoughtfulness of the hosts and the well-stocked amenities, there is a mixed response regarding welcome gifts, with some guests expecting them based on past experiences. It is important to note that such gifts are a bonus and not a guaranteed feature.
Pigwigs Place is a tranquil cottage converted from a barn in the lovely 120 acre grounds of an estate a mile from the Dartmoor village of Cornwood. Joined to an 18th century stable block, it is a comfortable and welcoming base for families or friends. From the porch you step down into a traditional open plan living space with beams, dining area and seating place with cosy wood burning stove for which the logs are provided. Head up the stairs to the three bedrooms, the children's twin a fun room lined with a fabric canopy and with a popular play area. You have a choice of a family bathroom or shower room on this level. Outside, the entertainment for children continues, with woodland for building dens, a brook to fish in for tiddlers, formal gardens for hide and seek, a large pond and stream for a spot of pond dipping and a tennis court for the grown ups. Beside the cottage is your own enclosed courtyard with barbecue and furniture for alfresco meals. Outdoor activities are all around, with the southern slopes of Dartmoor to explore with their ancient hut circles. Maybe head off to see the animals at the Dartmoor Zoo, take buckets and spades to the beach at Wembury or Mothecombe, or relax at the waterside inns at Newton Ferrers by the River Yealm. Plymouths city amenities are only about ten miles away. In a great spot for exploring Devon, Pigwigs Place is an ideal cottage for families.

The directions to the cottage were very helpful. We really enjoyed the time using Pigwigs Place as a base for exploring Devon and wish we had longer to explore the grounds. The gardens were beautiful and our little one enjoyed the swings, playing by the stream and going to see the sheep every morning. The BBQ was enjoyed and we also enjoyed alfresco breakfast and dinners.

The accommodation was very well provisioned and had all we needed. There was a bit of a damp smell and a slightly smoky odour, probably from the wood burner and fuel in the lounge, but one quickly got used to it. All in all an enjoyable stay.
