While some guests suggest updates and improvements, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Cleanliness received mixed reviews. While many guests found the cottage in good order, there were instances of dissatisfaction, including a report of extensive cleaning required upon arrival. However, these seem to be isolated cases rather than the norm.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to beaches, footpaths, and local amenities. The convenience for coastal walks and access to Plymouth adds to the appeal, making it an ideal base for exploring South Devon.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a cosy and warm atmosphere. Some reviews suggest the furniture could be updated for enhanced comfort, but overall, the property is regarded as a relaxing retreat.

Facilities are deemed appropriate for a holiday stay, with a well-received new shower and sufficient space. However, there are comments about the need for better kitchen utensils, a functioning dishwasher, and general maintenance, indicating room for improvement.

The caretaker's attentiveness and welcome packs are appreciated, demonstrating thoughtfulness. It's noted that such gestures contribute positively to the guest experience, although it's politely mentioned that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

We found everything that we needed and more. The bed was very comfy and the shower a dream. The sofa a bit uncomfortable, however Gwen says a new one is coming soon. The old barn next door has changed rather!! We were so lucky with the weather and did loads of walking and exploring the area. We didn't want to leave on Saturday. Thanks again. Ann

It was comfortable, well equipped and cosy. Lovely flowers and wine for us on arrival. It has a great shower which was really welcome after days of walking the coastal path. Gwen, who looks after the cottage was great, keeping us informed of works to the water supply in the village during our stay, so thank you. The cottage is well placed for access to Plymouth and the coast. The village has a great local store which also has a bike shop.

Weather was on our side too. We visited Screech Owl Sanctuary and Bodmin Goal, Buckfastleigh Steam Train, Buckfast Abbey, Otter Sanctuary along with Cinema and 10 pin bowling at Barbican. Walk along Bovisands too. Great week.
