The garden and outdoor spaces are also enjoyed, contributing to a delightful stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the property as 'beautiful and clean', 'spotlessly clean', and 'very clean', indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes positively to their overall experience.

The property's location is frequently highlighted, with guests enjoying the proximity to the village, beach, and local attractions like pubs and cafes, as well as the quiet and friendly atmosphere of Shaldon.

Comfort is a strong point, with numerous reviews mentioning 'comfy beds', a 'home from home feel', and 'quiet corners'. However, one mention of needing better mattresses in a twin room slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a 'well-equipped house' and 'so many games'. Some feedback suggests room for improvement, such as the need for additional baking trays and new mattresses for one of the twin rooms.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through mentions of welcome gifts like wine and biscuits. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is noted that such gifts are a kind bonus and may not be a standard offering for every stay.

Excellent location with easy walking distance to the shaldon estuary. A real suntrap of a garden which was lovely to spend time in on a night. The parking was difficult for us as we had two cars. The carport was good for the first one but it was a bit of a nightmare finding a space for the second one every day.

Driftwood was a very well equipped holiday house. Our family, ages from 6 to 80, all enjoyed our time there. Shaldon is a lovely village, and the house is close to the centre, where there is a good village store, and great cafes and pubs. The beach is close by, and the ferry to Teignmouth.

We had a lovely week at Driftwood cottage it has all you need for a perfect stay. The position makes it in easy reach of many places to visit we loved the boat ride across to Teignmouth saved having to drive and park. Plenty of pubs and shops within walking distance and a great fish and chip shop down the road. Would recommend this cottage for a great stay in this part of Devon.
