About this property

A stylish home in the charming village of Shaldon

This fabulous coastal cottage oozes style and is awash with original features combined with top quality contemporary fittings. It’s a beautiful, picture-perfect property with three bedrooms and two bathrooms offering excellent holiday accommodation for up to six guests. Imagine a fusion of traditional dark wood floors, exposed beams and leather Chesterfields with beautiful bedrooms and high-end bath and shower room fittings.

Inside the property, the accommodation is arranged over two floors and the spacious living area is stunning … from the elegant French-style dining table and chairs and pretty window seat piled high with cushions to the leather Chesterfield sofas and cosy wood burner. The style continues into the kitchen, fully fitted with grey cottage style units and Belfast sink. Wide French doors lead out onto a delightful, whitewashed courtyard with table and chairs and potted palms and ferns. Upstairs, the three bedrooms – two doubles and a twin - are of the same high standard with dark wood floors and fabulous furnishings. The two bathrooms are stunning, with marble and stone tiles, standalone sinks and showers with glass screens.

The property is in the heart of Shaldon village, sitting between the green & The Clipper Café and beach. Shaldon is a quaint little fishing town, sitting opposite Teignmouth at the mouth of the River Teign – which is easily reachable on one of the regular ferries so you can explore further afield. Teignmouth also offers rail links to cities such as Devon and Plymouth if you want to explore a little further afield. Shaldon is a great place for walking too with the South West Coast Path offering some fabulous coastal strolls right from the doorstep. Follow one of the nature trails, do a spot of bird watching on the river or try your hand at one of the water sports on offer. Golfing enthusiasts will enjoy the 18-hole golf course, the charming local conservation zoo is a must, as are the fabulous beaches and the Homeyards Botanical Gardens.

If you’re visiting In August why not come and join in the fun at the Shaldon Regatta, a nine day event that is over 200 years old and offers fun for all the family. Guests are also within an 8-mile drive of the lively attractions of Torquay and the surrounding area has many popular National Trust properties, beaches and coastal tourist attractions.

The best thing about this cottage is that it is in Shaldon! It is also in a wonderful location for everything in the village. There is adequate outdoor space at the cottage to hang out wet things and rinse off muddy boots. Plenty of space downstairs. Might be worth taking an extra towel if you want more than one for the whole week. Good kitchen for cooking and everything you could possibly need for a week, all listed on the website. Very quiet even though on the road.
