Guests say

Shipwrights Cottage in Teignmouth is highly praised for its cleanliness, prime location near the beach and train station, and the comfort of its beds. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs and the property's suitability as a base for exploring Devon. Some concerns about damp and parking are noted, but overall experiences are positive.

The majority of guests report the cottage as very clean, with only one mention of a damp issue affecting kitchenware. The presence of snail trails suggests a minor issue, but overall cleanliness is highly regarded.

The location is consistently praised for its proximity to the beach, train station, and local attractions. The convenience for exploring nearby areas is a highlight, despite some parking challenges.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, although one review suggests additional seating could improve comfort in the living room.

While the cottage is generally well-received, there are mixed comments about facilities. Positive remarks about welcome packs and cleanliness contrast with concerns about damp and maintenance issues. Due to the lack of detailed reviews on other facilities, a score cannot be accurately provided.

The thoughtfulness of the host is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating welcome packs and additional touches like dog beds and children's toys. While these gifts enhance the experience, they are a gracious gesture and may vary with each stay.

Welcome pack was a lovely touch and was nice to meet Judy on our last day as we vacated the property. We will be back. Michelle

The kitchen cupboards smelt damp and musty and we had to move all the plates and dishes and wash them before use and then leave them out which cluttered the small kitchen. Also we came down every morning to find snail/slug trails all over the floor and worktops so again a clean up was required before we could start our day. Another issue we had was whilst we were out on the Tuesday the owner took it upon herself to go into the property without informing us first to put the rubbish bins out for the following day, we were going to do this as per instructions. Apart from the above issues we would have been happy to book this cottage again in the future.
