Sunset View is a well-loved cottage in Bideford, Devon, appreciated for its beautiful views and ample space, accommodating families with comfort. Guests have enjoyed the hot tub and the welcome hamper, indicating a thoughtful touch. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns were noted, these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences.
Guests have raised concerns about cleanliness, mentioning dirty ovens, skirting boards, and a general lack of thorough cleaning. There was also an instance of finding previous guests' items, which suggests room for improvement in this area.
There is no specific information provided in the reviews regarding the location, hence a score cannot be accurately given.
The property is generally considered comfortable, with ample space for large groups. However, there were issues with bed configurations and broken furniture, slightly affecting the comfort level.
Facilities like the hot tub and games room were highlights, though maintenance issues with broken pool cues, dartboards, and a green hot tub water incident suggest that attention is needed to keep facilities in top condition.
The welcome hamper was a well-received gesture, showing thoughtfulness from the owner. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind bonus and not a guaranteed amenity for every stay.

Ground floor bedroom had beer bottle tops behind the bed . On 3rd floor balcony windows and tables were dirty. Bbq was dirty could not be used . However we loved the house it only took me 10 mins to wipe balcony glass and tables and we bought a disposable Bbq everything else was perfect. We spoke to owner re TV issue that she quickly resolved and she was lovely and extremely helpful . We absolutely loved the house it was amazing and the Hot Tub it was perfect for us and we are definately going to re book when the dates are available.

The views from the property were beautiful and we spent most of our time on the balcony taking in the views. Things that would need to be looked at for improvement are as follows... When we arrived the beds we asked to be zipped together were pushed together but had single sheets and duvets and not a super king duvet, I did contact the housekeeping who advised she was not notified of the beds needing to be zipped even though I did add this to the booking 4 months prior to arrival, she advised she would drop this in the next day however I had to call back at 4pm to remind her we were still waiting for the linen to make the bed up correctly. Games Room When we arrived the dart board was broken and all of the pool cues were also broken with no tips as well as the surf boards which were provided so that was a real let down that the housekeeper did not advise the owner that these needed to be replaced. Utility Room We found the last guest swimming costume and sanitary products left in there which was off putting, I had to clean the lint from the dryer and empty as it was full of water. Housekeeping The properties cleanliness was far beyond desirable, the ovens were filthy, the skirting boards, door frames, radiators in all bathrooms were thick with dust as well as all standing lamps, mirrors, tv's and furniture and games room which was a real disappointment. Hot tub Sadly we could only use the hot tub for 4 days as the water turned green! but there was no contact number provided for someone to attend to sort this. Back garden The back garden area really needs a gardener to attend and trim back the plants and a general tidy up. I do have pictures of all of the issues if you would like them. Apart from all of this we had a lovely holiday but very disappointing to have these issues especially with the price that we paid.
