Welcome to Welcombe! The lodge is the perfect spot for couples who love walking and the sea as much as they love each other.

This lodge is all on the same level and is spacious for two people. Most of the floorspace is taken up by an open-plan kitchen/diner/lounge, where you’ll find everything you need to make and enjoy romantic meals. Afterwards, curl up on the comfortable sofas with a book, film, or a glass of wine. You’ll find a double bedroom overlooking the garden, simply decorated and great for relaxing after a long day. Finally, there’s a shower room with a WC. This property has a lovely garden with plenty of trees, and there’s a wooden deck attached to the lodge. This has a table and chairs so you can take food and drinks out there or wait until the sun has set and do a bit of star gazing, taking advantage of the remote location and lack of light pollution.

The village of Welcombe is fairly spread out, so you’ll have a couple of houses nearby and the village hall about 300 metres away. If you’d like to get supplies, visit a larger town or go out for lunch, try Bude (11.5 miles), a charming seaside town with a nice beach. Alternatively, visit Welcombe Mouth Beach (1.5 miles), a dramatic spot surrounded by cliffs and a waterfall. From here, it’s a short yet steep walk to Ronald Duncan’s writing hut, where you can take a moment to enjoy the view and learn about the history. It’s easy to see why this place inspired so much creativity.
