Sourton Down is a small hamlet on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park. There is a Shell garage with takeaway food and supplies, as well as a pub called The Pump & Pedal and a bike rental company. The remnants of a mediaeval castle, which provide tours, walking pathways, and picnic areas with beautiful flowers, are located in the neighbouring town of Okehampton, as is the Museum of Dartmoor Life, which is housed in a charming 19th century mill. There's also a golf course, a train station, and plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants for a fun day out. Meldon has a quarry, bridge, and reservoir, all of which provide stunning views and fantastic walking trails to see all three.
