About this property

Resting in the quaint seaside town of Swanage on the south east coast of Dorset, lies this tasteful, two-bedroom holiday apartment, Nine Barrow View. With superb access to nearby attractions and amenities, this property serves as a great base for families seeking a relaxing, self-catered stay on the Dorset coastline. Once you’ve unpacked your belongings, make the most of your new dwelling by cooking up a storm in the well-appointed kitchen space, where delicious meals can be prepared to be savoured around the dining table or whilst perched on the sofa as you watch a film or two on the TV. In the evenings, treat yourself to a long, indulgent bath before retreating to one of two bedrooms, including a plush double that functions as a perfect sanctuary wherein you can rest and recuperate ahead of another exciting day. If you can tear yourself away from your favourable lodgings, be sure to explore your local area by stocking up on essentials at the Court Hill Stores; reserve a table at the Black Swan Inn; or grab some fish and chips from a seafront cafe to enjoy whilst sat on the lush sands of the Swanage Beach. You’ll find plenty of things to see and visit whilst you’re in town, including the outstanding natural location of the Purbeck Heritage Coast, where you and your loved ones can spend an afternoon taking in gorgeous sea views, whilst having fun at K’s Funworld. A great spot to have fun whilst getting rid of all your spare change. The chain ferry between Studland and Sandbanks provides a short cut to Poole and Bourneouth. The market town of Wareham is also a short drive away. Or enjoy a trip to Corfe Castle on the Swanage Railway steam train. You can enjoy all of this and more by booking Nine Barrow View.

Swanage is a small, family-friendly beach town on the renowned Isle of Purbeck, at the eastern extremity of Dorset's renowned Jurassic Coast. Swanage is arguably best known for its lovely, gently sloping golden sands. The small town is well renowned for its annual jazz festival, which is held in July, and for its abundance of stores, fine taverns, and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood. The charming Victorian wooden pier is a lovely spot to promenade, go fishing, or just sit and take in the sights. It's also a popular starting point for divers. Regular vintage steam engine excursions transport tourists on a charming 6-mile journey, chugging through gorgeous countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle, from the town's terminal on the historic Swanage Railway. With beautiful coastline walks, dolphin sightings, and wildlife viewing in addition to comfortable viewing areas and a well stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air, nearby Durlston Country Park makes for a fantastic day out. Take the frequent chain ferry that travels over the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks and the short drive to Studland, which has one of the best beaches in the nation and is bordered by heathland. Whatever time of year, you may have a wonderful holiday here.

Great location for the north beach and nice and quiet. Lovely and clean on arrival and everything you need is there. Nice touch to have some coffee and sugar etc left. The bathroom could do with updating but the size of the room makes it tricky to improve the layout. An inexpensive improvement would be to replace the blinds. They are awkward to operate and the one in the double bedroom is too wide for the window and catches. They rattle if there is a breeze and the windows are open. Bigger kitchen bin would be good. Just trying to give constructive feedback. Had a great stay, thanks.

The instructions were clear and accompanying information helpful. It is in a great location and easy to park and walk down to the beach or a bit further into Swanage town centre. It would be useful to have a few more mugs and glasses and a spatula/fish slice that can be used with the non-stick frying pan. Unfortunately the bathroom is pretty impractical with a shower over the bath but no bath plug and no tiles or shower curtain to allow for a stand up shower. Even having a sit down shower in the bath was difficult without water spraying everywhere so this needs some more creative thought to make it useable. The windows are old and both whistled and banged in the wind so could do with being updated. The dishwasher didn’t clean well and we needed to re wash everything by hand.

Just a little thing could have used a shower mat so we could have stood in bath for a shower, otherwise very nice would definitely stay again
