Quarrier's Rest in Swanage receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, including a secure garden and a barbecue. The cottage's charm and proximity to local amenities make it a favourite, though parking can be challenging. A welcome pack adds a thoughtful touch, enhancing the overall experience.
The property is consistently described as clean and tidy, with multiple reviews highlighting its spotlessness. Only one mention of an unclean toilet detracts slightly from an otherwise impeccable record.
The location is frequently praised for being close to the town and beach, with a secure garden and local amenities. Parking issues are mentioned, but they do not seem to significantly detract from the overall positive view of the location.
Comfort is a strong point, with comfortable beds and furniture noted. However, a few guests mentioned a lack of seating for all guests and one review cited steep stairs, which could affect comfort for some.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and additional amenities like a barbecue. Some minor issues with garden maintenance and furniture condition are noted, leading to a slightly lower score.

Set at the heart of the coastal town of Swanage, Dorset, lies this delightful, two-bedroom holiday home, Quarrier's Rest. With terrific access to nearby amenities and attractions, as well as child-friendly on-site facilities, this property makes a fantastic base for families seeking a fun-filled, self-catered escape to the south coast of England. Inside, be charmed by tasteful interiors that are on full show in the fully-equipped kitchen. Here, the chosen chef will find everything they'll need to prepare delicious, home-cooked meals whilst the rest of the family look on from the comfort of an adjacent living/dining room, complete with plush sofas, dining table, and a TV - a great spot to catch-up on the day's events or stick a film on as the evening grows darker. As you grow tired, treat yourself to an indulgent soak in the bath before retiring to one of the well-presented double bedrooms, an idyllic haven where you can rest and rejuvenate ahead of another exciting day. After you've savoured your morning coffee on the peaceful rear patio, you'll find a wealth of things to do in your local area, such as taking a walk along the Victorian locale of Swanage Pier Trust or the scenic chalk cliffs of the Purbeck Heritage Coast; spending all your spare coppers at K’s Funworld Swanage; or even just sunbathing on lush sands of the Swanage Beachfront. Further afield to the north is the town of Poole, where you can find the parks and gardens of Hamworthy Park and Harbourside Park, both locations ideal for a serene walk on a sunny afternoon. The surrounding Dorset AONB also offers a plethora of noteworthy destinations, including the Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens and the National Trust landmark of the Hardy Monument. Book Quarrier's Rest for a memorable strip to Dorset.
Swanage is a small, family-friendly beach town on the renowned Isle of Purbeck, at the eastern extremity of Dorset's renowned Jurassic Coast. Swanage is arguably best known for its lovely, gently sloping golden sands. The small town is well renowned for its annual jazz festival, which is held in July, and for its abundance of stores, fine taverns, and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood. The charming Victorian wooden pier is a lovely spot to promenade, go fishing, or just sit and take in the sights. It's also a popular starting point for divers. Regular vintage steam engine excursions transport tourists on a charming 6-mile journey, chugging through gorgeous countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle, from the town's terminal on the historic Swanage Railway. With beautiful coastline walks, dolphin sightings, and wildlife viewing in addition to comfortable viewing areas and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air, nearby Durlston Country Park makes for a fantastic day out. Take the frequent chain ferry that travels over the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks and the short drive to Studland, which has one of the best beaches in the nation and is bordered by heathland. Whatever time of year, you may have a wonderful holiday here.
