Bridport holds a famous twice weekly street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays with stalls selling curiosities, amazing artisan food and bric-a-brac.  This small town is able to boast independent, award winning butchers, bakers, greengrocers and a brewery.  The Electric Palace Cinema and Bridport Arts Centre are worthy of checking for great entertainment locally.  The 18 mile long Chesil beach, which runs from Portland to West Bay, a unesco World Heritage Site, is very nearby and offers dramatic scenery.  Unsurpassed walking along the South West Coastal Path is on tap.  The famed village of Abbotsbury with its swannery is a short drive from Bridport and the very popular Hive Beach Café is a must visit.
