A stunning period cottage nestled in Osmington, near Weymouth.
Built in 1845 this stone semi detached cottage has been renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining its cottage appeal.
The spacious kitchen/diner offers an ideal opportunity to cook a beautiful family meal using the AGA. You can access the conservatory and small courtyard via French style patio doors from the kitchen/diner. On a cold winter’s day, go for a bracing walk and then come home and relax in the sitting room and warm up by the open fire.
In nearby Osmington Mills just over a mile from the property has a traditional pub called The Smugglers, where you can also enjoy clifftop walks and coves to explore.
A 10 min drive into Weymouth where you can stop on the way on the village of Preston at the start of the stony beach and enjoy a walk along the pebbled beach maybe having a meal or drink in the Oasis café, you might catch a glimpse of kite surfers dependant on the waves. You can then carry on into Weymouth where you will find an array of shops, cafes and pubs and beautiful seaside walks.
A perfectly located cottage allowing easy access to explore all across Dorset.
Osmington village, is situated on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth wher you will find an glorious beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories.
