Pear Tree Cottage is a charming, semi-detached, typical English rural country cottage in West Milton, which is a pretty village, hidden away in Dorset's splendour, and surrounded by rolling hills and valleys which yawn out towards the coast. The village has some pretty thatched cottages dating back to the 16th century. A ten minute journey by car through lush countryside and leafy lanes will take you to the outskirts of Bridport where you will find several major supermarkets and various shops of all descriptions. The views from the garden are lovely and you can walk straight from the door on to nearby footpaths. The cottage provides ideal accommodation for families and adults and a very comfortable base for up to 6, from which to explore all that this lovely part of West Dorset has to offer. The beaches of West Bay, Burton Bradstock and Lyme Regis are easily reached from here. Nearby is Mangerton Mill a working 17th Century water mill and Museum of Rural Bygones - a small cafe is open during summer months (closed Mondays). There are four pubs within a short drive: The Marquis of Lorne in Nettlecombe is a short 3 minute drive as is The Three Horseshoes in Powerstock, The Crown at Uploders (around 7 mins drive) and the Loders Arms in Loders (around 5 mins drive). All are traditional in style, they welcome families, serve delicious home cooked food and real ale and have open log fires to warm yourself by on colder days.
