I very much enjoyed catching the sunset in the mornings prior to going for our larger hikes in the day & Iâd say the North gardens are worth a stroll too - the flowers smell gorgeous! It has supermarkets / town centre and a fabulous fish and chip shop (codfathers) close by also - so great for getting breakfast or dinner in. There is a folder with useful information on the coffee table with some good suggestions & also the hosts left us individual tea/coffee facilities with biscuits - which was a lovely touch. The beds are all very comfortable & it looks as pictured, and aside from the upstairs occasional heavy footsteps it was a very quiet and relaxing stay. However there are a few things to point out, the main door to enter the flats is constantly open - although you are provided a key for it. It seems like a quiet residential area, but something to bear in mind if you are out late or alone. The master bedroom(with the en-suite) smells distinctly of smoke & for non smokers it was very very noticeable even when we aired the room while we stayed. This I imagine is down to a past guest behaving inappropriately, but as an asthmatic I couldnât sleep in there and changed rooms with a friend who could stomach it. The property is presented well, but I would say the cleaning could do with some extra attention, all our white socks were dirty when we walked around without shoes (we donât wear shoes indoors) and although there is a hoover and mop bucket in the cupboard - there is no floor cleaner provided so I could only hoover initially. There is some dust on the skirting/top of shower heads and ledges - and also dead flies were in the faux flowers. There are basic cleaning supplies provided, so youâll need to bring/buy things if youâd like to clean the toilet/bathrooms/floor/glass table and bring your own bottle opener for wine/beer bottles if thatâs your fancy. Also be careful not to touch the walls as the paint is chalky, so even brushing against it on accident with your jacket - it will come away white. We didnât use the outside patio as we were constantly heading off on hikes - but I think that would be lovely on a warm summers day and is a lovely option to visitors.
